I enjoyed this. It was ridiculously self aware but it still worked in that respect. The only part I didn't think worked was the fact that the characters keep referencing the killings as a "reboot" and a "remake" but really, Scream 4 isn't either: It's just another sequel that's almost a reboot. One of the problems with the torture-porn genre that the girls listed at the start was the lack of character development, but that was the main problem here. They tried to get in all the new reboot cast but keep in all the originals when there wasn't enough time for all of them.

Got 9million in the us this week.. Very dissapointing it should reach 60-70m worldwide this week though!

I saw this film today. Not really what I'd call a classic but had it's moments.

 

The thing that put me off this film is that it's a 15. I'm guessing if there is a Scream 5 it will be a 12A. I was disappointed with the opening scene. The opening scenes are ment to be the most memorable scenes in horror.

My favourite scene was when Jill was beating herself up. I was pure comedy.

I thought it was more extreme in terms of violence and gore than the other Screams. There was never any intestines on display in 1-3 as far as I can remember.

Looking at it now, it's (scream 4) esentially just a not-so-literal Scary Movie...

can't wait to see this again a week wednesday with all my uni mates.

It's DYING at the box office. It's up to $48m globally now and I don't see it getting past $75m frankly.

Erm not really last week it was 48m Globally(opening week in total). This Week it took 9million in Usa = 57million rest of the world will take it to around 65m. It will then reach 75m the following week. No need to worry!

Yeah, it basically is Scary Movie. The way Scream referenced horror films and the conventions of the genre was pretty clever and refreshing at the time. However, Scream 4 is basically referencing itself and the other Scream films to the point where sometimes it does become parody.

Anyway, I thought it was kinda mediocre. I dunno, I guess I just dont find these kind of movies appealing enough anymore (and I loved Scream 1!). Courteney looked horrendous with her face completely botoxed! Neve aged a lot more gracefully, she looks good for a 37 year old. As for the new characters, I though Jill (dunno the actress name) was kinda bad with her line delivery. Hayden did well, surprisingly enough, so did Rory. Nico provided the male eye candy :lol: Shame he had to die - as did all the new characters actually :o

Also Scream 4 Has taken a total of 70million Worldwide - It should reach around 80million next week.

Yeah Box Office Mojo must've been a bit behind with the worldwide gross stats until today's update because it's jumped up to $67m now. Definitely looking up for a sequel.

Saw this today, really liked it, although I was scared for most of it. Really impressed with most of the cast (particularly Emma Roberts) I yelled at one of the characters a little too loudly for the cinema for being a stupid bitch lol!
