January 20, 201114 yr Most looking forward to hearing Sobrevivo and Nao Estamos Sos, based on their writers. Who's Thorsten Rath? Is he a Scandi?
January 20, 201114 yr Homens da Luta better not pass, seriously, give up already. They'll prolly finish top5, though they're $h!t. Most of them sound like ballads too, zzzzz. I dont think we've got a chance in hell this year though
January 20, 201114 yr I really want Portugal to win it this year, but looking at this lineup, I'm not sure. At least you're doing better than Ireland.
January 20, 201114 yr Some hella random countries have won in the history of the contest, especially the early 2000s, I mean Estonia? Latvia? You've been in it since 1964, so I think you really deserve it now...
January 20, 201114 yr If you send your equivalent of Rybak (or even less of it!) you won't need any neighbourly voting! :o
January 20, 201114 yr Well it won't be this year for sure :o Nearly all the songs suck, the best one is Tensão by Filipa, but something tells me she'll be another Catarina Pereira. Homens da Luta :puke: Obviously they're winning the votes
January 20, 201114 yr Actually the Homens da Luta song is not all that bad! My favourites: Filipa Ruas, Carla Moreno and Nuno Norte.
January 20, 201114 yr Some hella random countries have won in the history of the contest, especially the early 2000s, I mean Estonia? Latvia? You've been in it since 1964, so I think you really deserve it now... I loved and voted for Everybody :drama: I won't argue that Marie N winning was random (and a travesty) though! Have Portugal even managed to come top 5? :drama: Then again, Finland never did until 2006 - find a gimmick Dre (but not a UK style gimmick that nobody else finds funny). If you send your equivalent of Rybak (or even less of it!) you won't need any neighbourly voting! :o Exactly! Although the fact that the entries are always in Portugese probably doesn't help the songs to appeal to other cultures :drama:
January 30, 201114 yr Filipa Ruas it's the best choice for Portugal even though I fear a "Canta por mim" style result in the pre-selection :( It's something Portugal need to send to get back in the top 10 and it's very catchy which will help a lot. I also like Wanda Stuart's song which is a very powerful ballad, but I can see her emulating their 2010 result or even worse non-qualification. Rui Anderade has a very strong song too, and what will help his cause is the fact is very handsome and it is a very Enrique styled ballad. The internet vote winner Homens da Luta ISN'T THAT BAD! It's traditional, but I think it will only appeal to Spain and France :( It would be a HUGE risk to send that to ESC. I can see it finishing 3rd or 4th in the final. The last place Woodoo deserved way better - I wouldn't have minded that in the final and it would have been a modern approach for Portugal in ESC. Carla Ribeiro was underrated too - soulful ballad, even if it would have been dated for ESC - A nice bit of 90s retro. Edited January 30, 201114 yr by Joinwithus
