Girls Aloud singer Nadine Coyle has been waiting a lifetime to play a gig in her home town - then three come along at once.

The Derry star and her bandmates were to stage two summer shows at the city's Millennium Forum but added an extra date after tickets sold out.

Nadine, 21, said: "I'm so excited, the opportunity has never been here before. I've been to the home towns of all the other girls so now it's my turn.

"I was shocked by how fast the tickets sold. But it's amazing to know Derry people are behind me and supporting me in what I do.

"The girls have a vision of Ireland and they imagine we all live in thatched cottages. I think they're going to be in for a shock.

"I love getting home but don't get to do it that often. My family usually come to London to see me.

"That's why this gig at the Forum means so much to me.

"It also gives me the opportunity to do something for the Northern Ireland Children's Hospice of which I'm patron.

"On the night a collection box will be put out and a percentage of the ticket sales will be donated to the hospice."

It's been a busy spell for the babe, not only was she a bridesmaid for Cheryl Tweedy, she's also managed to squeeze in the trip home to Derry for her 10-year-old niece Courtney's birthday.

And she is also due to fly out to Los Angeles straight after to spend time with her boyfriend, Desperate Housewives actor Jesse Metcalfe, 27.

Despite all the excitement surrounding Cheryl's wedding, Nadine insists you won't find her booking a church any time soon.

She added: "Jesse's just lovely. But we don't have any plans to settle down just yet. No way. We're just enjoying ourselves."

Nadine was one of hundreds of celebrities who gathered at a secret location on Saturday where Cheryl wed Arsenal player Ashley Cole.

She told the Derry Journal: "The wedding was brilliant. We couldn't really believe it was happening. We were all at the back getting our dresses on and in a way it felt like we were getting ready to shoot a video.

"Then suddenly Cheryl was walking down to get married. It was wonderful and she looked stunning."

For Nadine, media speculation about fights between herself, Sarah, Nicola, Kimberley and Cheryl is infuriating. She said: "We are just so lucky. We all get along really well together.

"It could have gone horribly wrong. We spend a lot of time together but we have worked so hard to become a success.

"At the end of the day we're just five ordinary girls."

And Nadine has rubbished stories that Girls Aloud are soon to split.

She added: "We're having a really good time. Until the day comes when that changes, we'll stay together.

The first two Girls Aloud concerts will be at 3pm and 8pm on August 23 in the Millennium Forum.

The additional concert will be on August 22 at 8pm and there are hopes a fourth gig could be added.
