I agree with Eric, Heart is awful! They've JUST began playing Only Girl, and introduced it as 'Rihanna's new song'. Uhh, newsflash, she's kinda had 2 singles (WMN and S&M) since then! Well, S&M hasn't been released, but it's her next single so she's had 2 singles on radio since the period when it actually was her new song!

I'm actually surprised they're playing Only Girl! :o I thought it'd be a bit too loud for Heart.

I can imagine them playing What's My Name? to be fair, but they'll cut Drake's verse out.

They played Te Amo and Russian Roulette a lot from her previous album, but they didn't play Hard because it didn't get popular enough, and they didn't play Rude Boy, because it has innuendo in it.

They haven't played Love the Way You Lie because they hate Eminem.

They won't play Who's That Chick? because it has too many vocal effects for them.

Seriously, I have NEVER come across such an idiotic radio station in my life. Seriously. It's actually shocking.

The other day they played Tragedy by the Bee Gees. That's okay. A good song in comparison to all the other "classics" they play all the time. But then, of course, they had to mention Steps's version. They were like "That was the original version, not that cover version that Steps did. Nobody remembers Steps's version, and where are they now?" I just literally wanted to scream. So frustrating. That was one of my favourite songs when I was little, and I just can't stand their snidy remarks about it. Another time they played Don't Stop Believin', and they were like "That was the original version, not that tacky cover version from Glee". And I'm thinking, is this is the same radio station that hates Jay-Z, and pretends he doesn't exist, yet play Empire State of Mind II every 2 hours? Is this the same radio stations that plays What About Now by Westlife all the time?

Hmm, I've just had a look at Heart's A-list. There isn't a single song which hasn't made the top 40 and it includes two Lady GaGa songs (Alejandro and Bad Romance - number one a year ago), two Michael Buble songs (Hollywood and Haven't Met You Yet - top ten in Oct/Nov 2009) and I Gotta Feeling - number one in August 2009. Truly cutting edge stuff.

It literally makes me sick.

And they've also got a special radio edit of I Gotta Feeling...

I remember hearing Lil' Wayne part in Jay Sean's 'Down'.

Enrique's 'I Like It' doesn't have Pitbull on it, an so is on Radio 1's as well () which doesn't make sense (same goes for Usher's DJGUFIL).

Why is Pitbull a little bit taboo/inappropriate on radio lately?

And sometimes they play the more proper one.

I heard a piano version of Down on Heart once, but I've never heard the normal version, with or without Lil Wayne.

Heart cut all raps out of songs. They cut Flo Rida out of Bad Boys. They cut Snoop Dogg out of California Gurls. They cut Pitbull out of All Night Long (well, they play the album version). They cut Plan B's rap verse out of She Said. They cut Laza Morgan out of Start Without You. I could go on, but I just find it so annoying.

Btw, I apologize if anybody here likes Heart FM. I'm just forced to listen to it a lot, so I get quite vocal about it sometimes.

10 of 18 songs...well, see for yourselves!

And even the other 8, aren't anything overly interesting. It's no wonder the people who listen to Heart think today's chart music is terrible. They only 2010 songs they know are probably Forget You, California Gurls, Alejandro and Empire State of Mind II...

Oh also, I do have a tiny bit of praise for Heart though. They started playing Stereo Love around July time, and We No Speak Americano about a month after, which, to be honest, I really appreciated at the time. I literally sighed with relief everytime they got played. :)

Also, kudos to them for playing Meet Me Halfway. They barely play it anymore now, but they played it quite a bit about 4 months after it got to #1, and that was dangerously close to rap.

Heart is so pathetic with hating rap that they even cut out the tiny ad-libs Laza Morgan does in the opening seconds of Start Without You by Alexandra Burke

Here's the version of California Gurls that they play.

It's kind of funny though, like when we have friends in the car, and they play California Gurls on Heart, we're all singing along, and then they start rapping. It's always just so funny to see their faces when it just goes to instrumental. They're always like "What's going on?" They're so confused.

I heard that same version when I was in the US though, so it's not a specifically Heart FM edit (although it may aswell be, since I don't know a single other station that plays it ).

The rapless version I downloaded long ago is the same as the version as in Heart, so I think the US radio station shouldn't have a different one.

TBH, I kind of prefer that version more than with Snoop (not a fan of him in general).

Can we go back to the topic now? ;-)

Because a significant of BuzzJack users are very naive and ignorant. If it's not a female pop princess, its shyte as far as they're concerned. The idiot poster above talking about Biffy Clyro is just an example. How exactly are Biffy not a big band? At this present time they probably are the biggest 'rock/indie' act who have released music over the past 2 years. All this bull$h!t about 'indie dominating the playlists etc. etc.' it is so fickle. Do you not think pop acts dominate shows much as X Factor? And when they appear on chatshows etc.? Where's all the rock/indie music there????????

Just because a song isn't a 'hit' doesn't mean that it is not popular. It's probably highly likely that it gets a lot of requests, you know, seeing as these people are the ones who actually listen to Radio 1, and not the ones who decides whether Radio 1 is $h!t by looking at their playlist once a week.

exactly, if biffy comes back with a massive new single next year and it takes off they could push for the no1 imo!!
