Finally, far and away the best performing single in the sales chart in recent weeks, Shakira and Wyclef Jean's Hips Don't Lie has moved 54-3-2-1-2-2-3, while selling 195,799 copies. It's a performance worthy of airplay support but this has been noticeably lacking, with the single's airplay progress in the same period, although ever upwards being rather slow: 124-94-55-47-44-38-36. Radio One has been particularly unsupportive, failing to give the record even a C rating on its playlist, and airing it just once a week, on the chart show.

So that will mean it will have sold over 200,000 copies next week and i think it may climb, can it beat WW?

I'm glad MW have given it such a good little write up - and slagging off Radio 1 :D

Dunno if it'll beat WW but it's doing really really well. It looks like it's gonna be round for quite a while!

her competition this week is Madonna and Christina Aguilera, but hopefully she can maintain her high sales

Well....

She is about 300,000 away from the sales of Whenever Wherever

Yet she has managed to sell 30,000 everyweek!

I think she will sell about 350k by the end of the year!

WW sales were jaw dropping she had the biggest selling song by a female artist in 2002 and it never reached #1 we all know why she was denied it  and now she is set to do the same in 2006, it would be great if we get an all female top 5 as long as shakira is top 5 i'm happy
