February 1, 201114 yr Hey, my comments this week :D 1. Sheelah - The Last Time (2) (CR-2-1) It's growing on me slightly, but I still much prefer Psycho. Pretty cool how their fansite as sighted your chart as one of the UK's most significant charts! If only the official chart had acts like Yohanna, Sheelah, Tove Styrke and Maria Haukaas Mittet in it :( 10. Adele - Set Fire To The Rain (16) (CR-16-10) This is indeed one of the highlights of a strong album. I think I prefer 21 to 19 as a whole, but 19 had more standout tracks 14. Hanne Sørvaag - You're Like A Melody (NEW) (CR-14) Really nice song, but I doubt it'll trouble the scoreboard at Eurovision, she doesn't come across very confident on stage. The performance is very reminiscent of Anna Bergendahl's last year 15. Maria Haukaas Mittet - Glorious (NEW) (CR-15) Good song, much better than the stuff she released last year 19. Getter Jaani - Rockefeller Street (NEW) (CR-19) One of two good songs in the Estonian selection. I prefer Mimicry over this slightly at the moment though *Armin van Buuren & Sophie Ellis Bextor - Not Giving Up On Love I'm a bit disappointed this has been announced as the "next" SEB single as I thought this had already had a full release  . I was hoping Can't Fight This Feeling would get a big push here *Fragma - Oops Sorry Not their best, but still pretty good. I don't the Toca era will be topped *Girl Happy - SOS This is great! Shame they couldn't pull off a great live performance though :( *Isis Gee - How About That I'm not that fussed by this, and I doubt she'll have much success with it. Good to see she's still looking as orange as ever though :D *Ola - All Over The World I was quite surprised to see this on the release schedule. It's unlikely, but I hope it does well for him. *Stella Mwangi - Haba Haba I prefer the live version of this bizarrely, maybe it's the visual aspect that brings this song to life. Here's hoping either this or Allergic makes it to Germany!

I know, that did catch me off guard a bit as I didn't know what on earth they could be talking about at first  Yes indeed :( 10. I only like 5 tracks on 19 I think - the 4 singles and My Same, as covered on Lena's debut album! I like pretty much all of 21 and it has the same number of highlights for me. 14. I can't see it getting to the 'superfinal' of MGP, reckon it will have a similar result to Venke Knutson last year... 15. Agreed, her last album was bland as hell but this is anthemic and a welcome return to form :D I was quite surprised at this being picked as a single for Sophie but I do like it a lot - it's already been top 20 before for me last summer. Agreed about Fragma, Toca spawned 8 top 5 hits in my singles chart - the 3 big singles and 5 album tracks  Agreed about Girl Happy - was really upset to see the lead singer put in such a terrible vocal as the song is like a poppier version of Starlight by Muse - love it! I can't see Ola having a hit here tbh, only AATW seem to get hits out of European artists, and even then very rarely :( Stella's live performance was really great, I'm fully behind this for ESC now I think, it's their best shot at success. I love Allergic too but it's got no chance of winning MGP whatsoever, at least this has a huge chance - it's been #1 on iTunes for the last 3 days!

It must have been your chart they were looking at. They probably glossed over my chart; new entry at 40 :kink: 10 - 21 only had two standout tracks for me, the single and Set Fire To The Rain, but the rest of the tracks were also strong. 19 I found a bit boring on the whole apart from the singles. Talking about Lena, wasn't Taken By A Stranger absolutely fantastic? 14 - I wouldn't be surprised, although Venke deserved to do a lot better I thought. Yeah Not Giving Up peaked at number 19 on my chart last September. You Are Alive will always be my favourite Fragma song  . I think Stella has it in the bag tbh, as the crowd erupted when she came on and you could here how much they were loving it all through the performance. It definitely had that "There's the winner" vibe about it :D

I don't even understand how they found it - when I typed in 'Sheelah - The Last Time' on Google, my chart didn't pop up...I wouldn't have thought anything of it if they'd just said that it was #2, but the fact that they also stated that it was the 'song of the week', which it also was in my chart thread last week  I don't think any personal chart on here can be referred to as one of 'England's most important rankings' Although my chart does seem to get 3 or 4 times as many comments/views as even the second most popular on here - I've never quite understood why that is, but it certainly gives me more incentive to carry on doing it! 10. I also love Lovesong, Someone Like You and Turning Tables  Yes indeed, although not wishing to sound like a loon - I liked all six of the songs to some extent. Ranking them in comparison to each other, Taken By A Stranger was certainly my favourite and unless there's something incredible in the second semi, should be her choice for ESC - looking forward to the album leaking next week (hopefully)! 14. I agree there - although it became a big chart hit in Norway post-contest! Not as big as Yes Man which had 6 weeks at #1 there though - strange that couldn't make top 3 in MGP considering :o Everytime You Need Me was my favourite Fragma song but all three singles were amazing to me, and #1's in my chart  Yep, I definitely agree with you there, and she could go on to do extremely well in Dusseldorf too, which can't be said about anything else in MGP this year

I'm looking forward to seeing what's in the next semi. 14 - Yeah I can't figure out why Yes Man didn't do as well as it's chart performance suggested it should have done. I also fail to see how Didrik did so well  It's got a great feelgood vibe about it. Lots of people are comparing it to Allez Olla Ole and saying it will be slaughtered by the jury, but I think Haba Haba has got a much higher likeability factor than Jessy's song did.

Lots of people are comparing it to Allez Olla Ole and saying it will be slaughtered by the jury, but I think Haba Haba has got a much higher likeability factor than Jessy's song did. 1. I'd die if when I was in Sweden I was browsing a newspaper and saw it in there :heehee: Maybe that's where the high views for it each week come from - do you think some other outside site is linking to it somewhere every week? I just don't understand how it could get 500-600 views when most get 100-200? 10. I liked the final song, which went through, and the two you mentioned. Since the show, Maybe has grown on me significantly and I Like You seems a lot more boring to me now... 14. Indeed, it was bizarre that he had SUCH a comprehensive victory, I thought A1 and Bjorn would have put up more of a fight. I bet they wish they'd went with one of those two after seeing where Didrik ended up in the ESC final  It didn't help that Ireland's song was so similar (but better) I guess... I definitely agree with you there, Allez Ola Ole came across as very frantic, boyish and harsh (even though I really grew to love it after the performance) whereas Haba Haba is more summery, breezy and feel good and I could see it doing very well.

Classic Ballads weren't in last year it seems, what with those two and Belarus completely flopping.

So are a lot of other people that post their charts, although maybe because most of those have solely 'UK chart based' personal charts, nobody finds them overly interesting :kink: 10. Surprised there weren't really any uptempos - they're all even slow or mid-tempo - I guess the next semi will have some, surely :o 14. True, disappointingly in Niamh's case, she didn't deserve to do that badly :( Surprised the juries all avoided those ballads like the plague actually!

It is true though, I much prefer looking at charts where there's a chance I might discover something I hadn't heard before. 10 - Hopefully so. I was expecting there to be a couple of songs that sounded exactly like Satellite, but That Again was the closest we got :o . 14 - Niamh's song was very good I agree. Maybe the juries wanted to avoid being described as dated in their voting?

I agree, I'm surprised but I guess they're actively trying not to copy it. A couple of songs did sound like they'd have easily slotted onto her debut album though - particularly the two that qualified that weren't Taken By A Stranger. Good News was very mature and classy. 14. Quite possibly, so all the more surprise that they all voted in their droves for Jade the previous year, which was even more dated

It was my third favourite, was quite surprised it didn't qualify over Maybe. 14 -, true! I wonder if we had entered It's My Time last year we would have been down the bottom with all the other big ballad numbers?
