....does anyone here remember the absolutely fantastic single they released at the end of the 80s called 'The Rhythm Divine'?

 

Music be Yello, main vocals from Bassey... and backing vocals from ex-Associate, the late, great Billy Mackenzie, who also re-recorded it with him as main vocalist.

 

I discovered this forgotten gem in a box of CDs this weekend up my attic - and what a treasure it is. I think it reached the lower 40s on release, but it's an absolute classic - astonishing.

I've got most of their stuff, didn't like the much later stuff, though.

 

Are they still in business?

it's one of those albums that was ignored on release in 92/93...but was WAY ahead of its time. It sounds bang up to date even now, some 15 years later.

 

Huge talent, was Mackenzie, and sorely missed. 'Outernational' is worth £10 of anyone's money... a classic.
