12 - Indeed, we can hope though. It a shame the Sjonni song is actually pretty good, if it was rubbish like his previous entries Yohanna would still have a big chance of winning.

43 - Yeah, I'm not that fussed by this song. Like you said, it's very similar to her previous singles, and those singles were far more anthemic.

50 - I really like it :kink: . The studio version is very poorly recorded though, sounds like they just gathered everyone around a dictaphone :lol:

51 - I was quite surprised also, but the song doesn't do a great deal for me. I'm more surprised at Girl Happy going out, despite the poor live vocal.

59 - I need to give it a few more listens. At the moment it doesn't do much for me :(

 

I haven't bought many new albums recently, and those that I have bought don't really deserve to be "Album of the week", so Emma remains there by default really :lol: . Can't recall Brighter Greener off the top of my head, but I'm glad she's gone with that over the re-recorded version of Focus.

12. Yeah true, it's probably my fourth favourite overall of everything from Iceland this year after Nott, Astin Min Eina and Huldumey. I wouldn't actually have any problem with it being sent over the latter two, but I'll be disappointed to see it there over Nott.

50. I haven't dared to listen to the studio version, I was so horrified by the live version :lol:

51. It's a nice classy R&B/Soul song imo, and she's a fairly big/respected star there from my knowledge - I thought it would go to second chance at least. I guess Girl Happy is the type of song that might do better in Sweden, Norway have some truly bizarre taste sometimes - I actively dislike 6 out of the 8 songs in the second chance round :/ Definitely not buying the compilation this year.

59. Watch the video, helped it to grow on me definitely :wub:

50 - Watching it live was great, completely took me by surprise after some of the utter dirge performed prior to it. The studio version is basically the same as the live version except a bit more grainy :lol:

51 - Oh :o . Can't say I'd heard of her before, but if she's well known then that is a surprise. There's only one song in the second chance round I like. On the whole, this year's MGP has been really disappointing :(

1. It lacks something or other for me - I love the production but I don't find the chorus quite strong enough :( Still like it a lot though!

50. Each to their own, it was the worst 3 minutes of my year :kink: I thought that the awful guy and the operatic woman completely clashed with each other and it sounded like a complete and utter mess to these ears.

51. Oh dear, even worse than me :lol: That one song will be Allergic then! I also like Endre's song, although it's not amazing. The other six really are awful and I have no idea what Norway were thinking when Carina Dahl, Sichelle, Marika, Girl Happy and Noora Noor are all out over those six :/

1. It lacks something or other for me - I love the production but I don't find the chorus quite strong enough :( Still like it a lot though!

50. Each to their own, it was the worst 3 minutes of my year :kink: I thought that the awful guy and the operatic woman completely clashed with each other and it sounded like a complete and utter mess to these ears.

51. Oh dear, even worse than me :lol: That one song will be Allergic then! I also like Endre's song, although it's not amazing. The other six really are awful and I have no idea what Norway were thinking when Carina Dahl, Sichelle, Marika, Girl Happy and Noora Noor are all out over those six :/

So quite surprised, huh? :D Good luck in the next edition ^_^ I had many exams, I forgot to vote, that was just the beginning, I had my last exam last week, so I lost an interest in the competition since I've been busy, I am not sure whether I will return :(

51 - It is quite bizarre how different Norway and Sweden are when it comes to tastes in music. Sweden seem to much prefer pure pop whereas Norway like something a bit grittier on the whole it appears.

I agree, it definitely seems that way. Being a pure pop fan primarily though, I think it's why I prefer Melodifestivalen (and the way the results usually turn out there!).
