They'll never do a better album than "Elephant" or "Get Behind Me Satan",

They already did though, De Stijl.

Here's hoping that Interpol have the sense to do the same after their extremely dull and disappointing record of last year....

The one before that was utter mince too.

my favourites for them were Seven Nation Army, My Doorbell and Fell In Love With a Girl, Hotel Yorba is alright too

they were really hit and miss really, I really liked some of their stuff, but others not so much

The one before that was utter mince too.

I'm glad it wasn't just me who thought that.

7 nation army was one of the defining singles of the noughties for me!!
Shame. Got their live album last year, really good and "Fell In Love With A Girl" is utterly inspired. They'll go down as one of the most important bands of a generation - possibly THE most important unless The Strokes come back with something amazing (an American Idiot if "Is This It" was Dookie).
The one before that was utter mince too.

"Our Love To Admire" at least has some decent tracks on it though (Heinrich Manouver, Mammoth, Rest My Chemistry, and a couple of others), whereas I'm honestly hard pushed to think of anything good about "Interpol"....

Gutted that I never saw them live.

I liked them since I heard the singles from 'White Blood Cells'. Middle four albums are brilliant, and IT took a while but really grew on me (I'd say it's as good as GBMS!), not as fussed on the debut but it's still good.

I kinda saw this happening after he went to do the side project with 'The Raconteurs'. I liked The White Stripes for the minimalism. Im happy they came to a mutual agreement to call it a day instead of them doing albums that they are happy with and sending the name into disrepute. Shame though :(
