Posted February 11, 201114 yr The album 'An Afternoon In The Garden' has suddenly turned up on the Billboard Top 200 and Catalog Charts. Last week it entered the Top 200 Album Charts at 166 and 20 on the Catalog Charts. This week it has risen to 137 on the Top 200 Album Charts and 16 on the Catalog Album Charts. I suspect this could be due to the 'Elvis In Concert' productions happening during the next week or so at the Radio City Music Hall in NYC and at the Mohegan Sun Arena in CT. I am reliably informed that the album is on sale for $5, along with others, at such stores as Walmart. This is my favourite 'live' Elvis album. Brian

April 15, 201114 yr Author During the past couple of months the 'An Afternoon In The Garden' album has re-entered and left the Billboard Top 200 Album Chart. Well it is back again this week re-entering at No.123 with a star denoting greatest airplay and sales gain. It has also re-entered the Catalog Album Charts at No.12 with a star. It is interesting, apart from being a great album, as to why this particular one should be getting so much chart success now, even performing better than the recent Elvis Legacy releases. Brian

May 10, 201114 yr 'Elvis At Madison Square Garden' An In-Depth Report: Elvis' June 1972 concerts in Madison Square Garden were a key part of his stunning career. Only days after the first concert RCA rush-released the album 'Elvis: ‘At Madison Square Garden’. Most serious Elvis fans will own both the original release as well as the 1997 release ‘An Afternoon In the Garden’. While both shows are impressive, fans and reviewers often describe Elvis’ evening show performance to be as if he was running to catch a bus and suggest that the earlier Afternoon show may have been a better concert. We all know that Elvis always preferred performing at his evening shows, so has this classic concert been misrepresented or was it just a badly mixed rush-release?. With ‘An Afternoon In the Garden’ making the billboard charts once again in 2011 EIN contributor Daniel Massey has examined each show very closely to truly discover which is the best show Go here to read this fascinating EIN spotlight and have YOUR SAY over which is your favourite MSG concert. http://www.elvisinfonet.com/cd_review_elvi...are_garden.html (Spotlight/CD Review, Source;ElvisInformationNetwork)

July 29, 201113 yr Author 'An Afternoon In The Garden' re-entered the Billboard 200 this week - at #177 - with 3,087 copies sold. (i) As of (late) October last year, the album had scanned a total of 194,552 units. (ii) A total of 306,183 units had been scanned in the US, as of last Sunday. --> Consequently, An Afternoon In The Garden sold/scanned approximately 112,000 copies in the past 9 months. To date, the album has spent 20 weeks on the Catalogue chart and 14 weeks on the Billboard 200. An Afternoon In The Garden is - with quite a margin - the best-selling Elvis album in 2011. Its chart performance and sales are - actually - better than the all the "new" Sony mainstream Elvis releases from the past ~3 years (including Viva Elvis & Elvis 75). Here is a short summary of how the album has performed on the US charts, since its - quite unexpected - appearance earlier this spring: Billboard 200 Catalog Chart 02/12 : #166 | #20 02/19 : #137 | #16 02/26 : # --- 03/05 : # --- 03/12 : #37 03/19 : #172 | #28 03/26 : #34 04/02 : #35 04/09 : #50 04/16 : # --- 04/23 : #123 | #12 04/30 : #85 | #8 05/07 : #89 | #8 05/14 : #88 | #9 05/21 : #98 | #13 05/28 : #114 | #13 06/04 : #131 | #15 06/11 : #150 | #22 06/18 : #154 | #21 06/25 : #194 | #32 07/02 : # --- 07/09 : # --- 07/16 : # --- 07/23 : #43 07/30 : #41 08/06 : #177 | #26 The above information kindly supplied by Mael. This has always been my favourite officially released 'live' Elvis album. If it keeps up the trend of re-entering the Billboard Top 200 Album Chart then hopefully it will not be long before we see a new Gold record for The King. Brian
