CHEESY 1990s pop group Steps are set to reunite for a TV series marking ten years since they split.

 

The Tragedy singers are also in talks about a one-off charity gig.

 

Band members Lee Latchford-Evans, Ian "H" Watkins, Lisa Scott-Lee, Claire Richards and Faye Tozer plan a three-part series about their time together from 1997 to 2001 and their careers since.

 

They have approached broadcasters including Sky Living about the show, hoping it will be screened later this year.

 

An insider said: "Faye, Lisa and Lee all previously said they were up for a reunion while Claire and H took a bit more persuasion."

 

Steps sold 15million records, with 14 top five hits, but they split after Claire and H broke away to form a duo.

 

Lisa had a solo career and her own MTV reality show and competed in Dancing on Ice and CelebAir.

 

H appeared on 2007's Celebrity Big Brother, while Faye toured with theatre production Tell Me on a Sunday.

 

Lee appeared on Channel 4's The Games and MTV's Totally Boyband.

 

I'd love to hear them do a new album or at least single. If only Same Difference's album tracks had been saved for them :drama: Karma Karma would have made a great comeback single!

OMFG :drama: I loved them when I was younger - I even sang One For Sorrow in the school talent show (spontaneously without lyrics or anything) when I was 4! :lol:

I liked some of there stuff in the day and they did what they did very well, im not sure if that style would work anymore but best of luck to them,id be happier to see them succeed than fail, so if the story is true and they can come up with a strong comeback single they may do reasonably well, i always thought they were crazy to split up when they did as for me i always had a feeling solo wise none of them would do great.

I like steps but i think they would be a disaster at eurovision, that style doesnt do well at eurovision.

I can't imagine how they'd pick up the neccessary support they'd need to succeed, no matter if they try and be 'current' or whatnot.

 

I liked them in a nostalgic 'school disco' type way, but they should be left in the past.

I can't remember SYBM or OIMD :( Chain Reaction is a horrible cover of a great song. Deeper Shade Of Blue is the best pop song of 2000 tho.

Words Are Not Enough was a terrible final single and Baby Don't Dance was bland too to me. Their 1998/1999 singles were my favourites but this can be said about any act probably, I can't even think of a single song I hate from either of those years, far too much nostalgic value :lol:
