Just had a quickie look on Ticketmaster and there are some 'side view' seats going for £20 each! Some will probably be in the same block as I've paid 80 quid each for! These will be seated the only problem being is you won't know which seats you'll have - but they could end up being better than the one's I've got!

Worth a go if you've been dithering because of the price. Rich (Gooddelta - this means YOU!)

For which dates/venues Kath?

I'm more concerned about not having the time off work than the price to be honest, the only days I don't work are Monday, which by the looks of it is their day off (:drama:) and Friday's, but I've got plans already for the next few.

Are there any of these side view tickets available for any of the London dates? You paid £80 each? :o If I had been going I'd have got the £56 unreserved seating ones I guess!

Ah, not to worry - just seen that it's only for this Friday and Saturday's shows because they're filming the DVD and want to fill any empty space.

Sadly I'm going out with friends Friday night and have work 3-10 on Saturday - gutted :( There are some tickets there for £10 each too, although with those I gather you wouldn't be able to see the stage.

I've heard some nightmare stories about 'unreserved' seating!!! Especially for Manchester! So I was quite prepared to pay the 80 to have definite seats ... especially since my 'ankle incident'!!!

These are the ones I bought for Friday - £20 was too good to turn down

James - what time approximately did the concert at Manchester finish?

Kath

It was around 22:30. Definitley no later than that! I'll get an exact time for you tomorrow if you like

The show was very, very good. I do have to say that visually (and in parts - musically) it wasn't as spectacular as The Circus but it was very good even so. I sneakily had an idea that I'd enjoy Rob's set ... and I did. I loved the way they did Kidz and Love, Love and The Flood were solidly performed but I wasn't as impressed with SOS and one of the other Progress songs.

I'll give a fuller report sometime tomorrow I've only just got in though so I'm knackered!

From Digital Spy:

A number of Take That fans were sent to Manchester Royal Infirmary following the group's recent record-breaking concerts in the city.

Over the eight dates last week - part of the 'Love Love' group's 'Progress' jaunt - approximately 160 fans were treated in the hospital, averaging at 27 per day.

Stewards working at the City of Manchester Stadium had to ask 65 women to leave the venue, believing they had drunk too much, while 35 men were also ushered off the premises, reports The Daily Telegraph.

The majority of patients who suffered alcohol-related injuries were women aged in their 30s and 40s. The most common cases of injury were sprained ankles, but more serious instances included broken wrists and alcohol poisoning.

"We saw an increase from people who'd been at the Take That concerts," explained Dr Steve Jones, the MRI's clinical director of emergency services.

A steward at the stadium added: "I have worked at lots of concerts and some of the drunkenness was unbelievable. Some women were slumped in their seats barely able to walk. It was way worse than a football match."

Aside from the medical emergencies, local police authorities also reported a rise in crime, with most cases involving public disorder and assault.

One instance included a report of sexual assault by a female member of security staff who was groped by a concertgoer, while another was of an assault on a woman who got beaten around the head by a male after queue-jumping the men's toilets.

"A small minority of fans were able to drink to excess to the extent that they spoiled the evening for other fans attending the concert," Inspector Mike Coombes stated.

"I would expect a small minority to behave poorly and to have to deal with that. But I would say that overall the number of incidents and arrests are what we would have anticipated for a pop concert of this size."

Now I'm not pointing the finger here, but it's a bit of a coincidence this story has appeared a day after Kath went. Just saying....

Yes and kath did have a bad ankle going in!

I had rather a mishap with a concealed can of Bacardi & Coke - but that's another story! As it happened we didn't drink anything all night - the only drink we had was a glass of wine with a meal a few hours before the show. I'll give my review later ... for now I'll just say it was very, very good and Rob was, I have to admit, enthralling. He may not be the best singer in the world but he does entertain.

Kath

I have always said robbie was an entertainer and a very average singer so i can understand why you might have enjoyed him. Are you sure though kathy you werent knokcing back straight bacardi at the concert causing riots???hmmmmmm

No 'twas not me! I don't think I've ever had an alcoholic drink at a TT concert before - usually because I can't stand the crowds at the bar and when you get there they're too damned expensive. What we did this time was to take a can each (only those little ones) of Bacardi & Coke. As I was getting out of the car at Picadilly - it fell out of my bag - so I put it in the inside pocket of my waterproof jacket. It was only when I went to the loo (during Angels - sorry Rob - just can't stand the song) that I noticed that the fall had put a tiny dint in the can and it had seeped through onto my fleece! It wasn't even my fleece - it was a really nice warm one I'd borrowed from my niece! That however must have been waterproofed or something as it didn't go through to my tee-shirt underneath. I just put the can under my seat when I went back and forgot about it. Sister didn't even touch hers. To be honest though - although we were well under cover where we were sat - and dry - it was absolutely freezing! The only sensible thing I could see people drinking was hot chocolate!

I have no idea why people feel the need to get so drunk at concerts, it completely ruins it for everyone else. At BW we had a bunch of middle-aged drunk women in the row in front and they completely embarassed themselves and slightly ruined the experience for us. Why don't they just go to the pub instead? If it carries on they're gonna have to ban ALL alcohol from concerts because as it's going, it's really not fair.

lol yeahh i see where you are coming from but i think its nice to have a couple and make a day of it...when i went to circus live with a couple of people we had a nice couple of drinks in the queue and then probably 2 or 3 more when we were actually inside waiting for the support acts to come on (not counting gary go lol) but there were people absolutely off their faces as early as 3 in the afternoon...absolutely shocking

Yes have a few, but there's absolutely no need to get pissed. You're at a concert, not a party. Take That fans are insufferable enough as it is, alcohol makes the whole situation a hundred times worse!
