November 15, 201113 yr As I do I, Pixie supported the Saturdays on the work tour, she has three number one singles. All About Tonight defeated All Fired Up. Turn It Up has sold more copies than all three Saturday's albums put together and he recent single What Do You Take Me For managed to make the top 10!
November 15, 201113 yr Author The only 'link' they have with each other is that she supported them on the Work tour, and that they both sing pop. Have any of you actually heard Pixie's album? It's dire. On Your Radar is far superior. I'm a fan of both of them, but On Your Radar is better than Young, Foolish, Floppy. Has it not come across that's why she's debuted in the midweeks so low?.. Because her album isn't that good?..
November 15, 201113 yr It dosen't matter if The Saturdays have the best album in the next 20 years, the lead singles have underperformed as have previous albums. Pixie had an amazing debut selling album and Mama Do, Cry Me Out, Boys and Girls have outsold all Saturday singles. Therefore even if OYR is better than YFH the fan base will still purchase it and the general public will have no idea on how awful the album is unless they listen to it.... I hope that makes sense.

You've just listed all the reasons why they couldn't be more different artists. Singles under-perform for artists all the time, it doesn't mean their album goes the same way most the time. I can see what you mean, but Pixie Lott is hardly the fairest and comparable artist. I don't see why comparisons are made between solo artists and groups altogether..
November 15, 201113 yr Mama Do, Cry Me Out, Boys and Girls have outsold all Saturday singles. Mama Do has outsold them yes, but Ego, Higher and Up have all sold more than Boys & Girls and Cry Me Out. To be honest I don't really see why we're comparing them, The Saturdays have always had much more front loaded/fanbase sales than Pixie who has much longer chart runs.
November 15, 201113 yr Pixie and the Sats have a similar audience. Pixie is more popular. That's the fact of it.
November 15, 201113 yr Anyway I think Last Call sounds fantastic, can't wait until I hear it in full! Edited November 15, 201113 yr by lee wallace
November 15, 201113 yr Realistically, this isn't going to sell more than 150k in total. I can see it being number 9 or 10 in the first set of midweeks but will end up debuting around number 12 on 25-28k. The problem with The Sats is that they just haven't had the exposure they need and tbf they're just too boring! I do love them and think they've really found themselves with this album, but if you look at Girls Aloud, they were much more interesting/newspaper worthy. It wasn't for great reasons, but Cheryl's incident at the start, then Ashley, Sarah being a pisshead, it all helped them. The Sats are a great girlband with great material, but because of the lack of exposure/personality they just haven't had the breakthrough to them mainstream public. The girls could go album after album but until something changes their sales aren't going to imporve unfortunately. Also, as much as performing on X Factor etc..shouldn't be important, if they were to have released 'Notorious' not as on air sale I think it would have had a little better run, then performed 'AFU' on X factor and released the album after that I think we would see it debuting on 45-50k. Then releasing 'MHTO' around xmas, it would have sustained album sales and it would probably end the year on 200k. It's a shame but their label really need to get them out there, a bit scandal wouldn't harm them, and to get some bloody personality across! :/
November 15, 201113 yr Author I can see where you're coming from.. but they have personality - some members just ooze personality. It's just not as 'scandalous' as you put it compared to Girls Aloud. I think the press have been reasonably kind to Vanessa despite her liking to go out and get hammered, compared to Sarah Harding. There was quite a brutal battering from the press and McFly fans with the whole Dougie and Frankie split - but that's quite forgettable now compared to Cheryl and Ashley The girls have the 'material' shall we say to be splashed all over the press though.. Una pregnant, "I'm not leaving" Frankie's 'mysterious' absence And quite a few more, but the press just don't roll with it as much. They haven't got to the height where the UK wants to know about them, which is a shame because I know everyone wants to marry Mollie because she's the posh one who has a cracking personality. She is the persona of the group.
November 15, 201113 yr This whole album 'campaign' has been a total mess. They're more interested in getting Frankie 'well' for the tour that they've completely disregarded the fact they have an album to promote. When they were on Daybreak, I'm pretty sure they mentioned the single and the tour.. no mention of the album. Nobody knows it's out. And ill or not, I mean she looked fine last time I saw her with them, but Frankie has totally screwed them over being away from them. Do we even know what's wrong with her? What does she need to rest for? The group are hardly run off their feet.
November 15, 201113 yr They seriously just need to axe Frankie and carry on as a four piece. She's possibly the most useless girl band member in history. At least the Pussycat Dolls were pro dancers.
November 15, 201113 yr Maybe the promotion was limited due to Frankie, I have no idea why their not doing any album signings or putting on performances at GAY or something this week, anything to help the single, album and tour?
November 15, 201113 yr They seriously just need to axe Frankie and carry on as a four piece. She's possibly the most useless girl band member in history. At least the Pussycat Dolls were pro dancers. If they need DRAMA, just kill Frankie. That way they'd have the best of both worlds.
November 15, 201113 yr Well, Frankie's back as a fan has just posted a picture thanking them for the group picture today. But I've just noticed this tweet Frankie made after the takeover thing they did: FrankieTheSats Francesca Sandford Right guys I'm gonna love you and leave u! Don't forget the single and the tour. Love u all. Hope I get to see you soon! Xxx Why do they just keep mentioning the single & the tour? I'd have thought the album would be the most crucial to mention of the three?
November 15, 201113 yr I suppose they've seen the single will struggle this week and wanna try and salvage that beforehand.
November 15, 201113 yr Either Frankie has been suffering from exhaustion or depression, or she actually has something more serious wrong health wise. I find it a bit weird that she or the label haven't spoken out about her being in the clinic, obviously if it was depression she probably wouldn't want to, and tbh what does she have to be depressed about? Which is what makes me think it's something a little more serious. Do you really see the label and the rest of the girls letting her have time off and missing vital promo etc...if it wasn't serious? It probably is just exhausation which is why the girls keep saying she's resting for the tour, I hope so anyway. Also, I know she's the least talented member of the band and doesn't add much vocally but she has the biggest profile out the girls (mollie will eventually take that) but she is seen as 'the sexy one', and Dougie, Wayne Bridge etc...shes the most well known member to the general public and is the one that actually gets them what tabloid coverage they do. I think she's a vital member in that sense, even if she can't hold a note very well. I think we should wait to find out exactly why she's been on before she gets slated for it, like I said, the label wouldn't let her be off if it wasn't for genuine reasons.
November 16, 201113 yr I find this whole Frankie situation unusual. I hope she is ok, it is a strange time to be missing so much promotion with the band. The tabloids/public don't seem too interested in whether Frankie is in the group or not. I haven't heard much about her being unwell. Also on another note, I think The Saturdays are too 'accessible' to fans. Sometimes mystery or a sense of a band being slightly untouchable to the public creates an aura of star quality around a band. The just seem like ordinary people who sing a bit. I don't think The Saturdays are a great band who are underachieving. I think they are an average band who are actually over achieving.
November 16, 201113 yr Basically I am awaiting Rochelle to announce her engagement to Marvin, Frankie to Wayne and for them all to have a break. The thing is they obviously can't have a long break because Fascination know their one of their biggest acts. I just hope next year they crack Europe I am sick of the "2010 year of Saturdays" "2011 Year of Saturdays" If they learn from mistakes "2012 will hopefully be the year.
