February 27, 201114 yr Author http://australian-charts.com/forum.asp Gavin Ryan's Chartifacts (Thanks to Gavin Ryan) Singles After blasting into the No.1 position last week with her third No.1 "Born This Way", Lady GaGa drops down to No.2 this week to let Rihanna finish her spanking of the No.1 spot as her seventh No.1 "S&M" reclaims to the dominant position on the top of the ARIA Singles Chart. This becomes Rihanna's third reclaiming of the No.1 spot; previously she did it with “Don’t Stop the Music” (Feb and March 2008) and last years “Only Girl (in the World” (Sep and Nov 2010). It also takes Rihanna’s tally at the top to 33 weeks, now only three weeks shy of Madonna’s 36 accumulated weeks at the top. The Black Eyed Peas make it three-for-three weeks at No.3 as "Just Can't Get Enough" stays stable at that position again. And helping to get Universal Music Australia the entire Top 4 singles this week (plus the highest new entry), is the bullet into the Top 10 at No.4 as Diddy - Dirty Money's "Coming Home" jumps nine places to land at No.4, giving him his 'home-coming' to the Top 10 after seven years absense. This becomes his seventh Top 10 single overall since he first graced this area of the charts back in 1997 with his second single and only No.1, “I’ll Be Missing You” (July 1997). As I mentioned last week, the last time we saw Sean Coombes in the Top 10 was on Mario Winans track “I Don’t Wanna Know” (HP-2, June 2004 peak). Alexis Jordan is spending a third week at No.5 (after two weeks at No.4 and one week at No.3), and former No.1 "Dirty Talk" by Wynter Gordon drops two places to No.6 this week. Avril Lavigne drops back from her peak of No.6 to No.7 with "What the Hell", pushing down Usher's "More" to No.8 and Katy Perry's "E.T." to No.9, but another version of Katy’s track debuts lower down the chart. The highest new entry was released on the 21st of February, so that gave it four days of sales, which has helped the new Jennifer Lopez single featuring Pitbull entitled "On the Floor" to debut at No.10 this week. "On the Floor" becomes her eighteenth chart entry (since 1999) and her eleventh Top 10 entry. Her last Top 10 entry was back in February 2005 when "Get Right" debuted and peaked at No.3, and it's been 3 ½ years since her last chart entry, "Do it Well" (HP-18, Oct 2007). This is the first track of her forthcoming seventh studio album "Love?" due in late March, and is her first release on her new record label Island (she was formerly with Epic). Also the song features a sample throughout of the 1990 No.5 single “Lambada” by Kaoma. The new American Idol judge’s ARIA Chart stats are listed below… No. Entry Date (WA) HP WI Titles 1 21-Jun-99 (3) 1 24 If You Had My Love 2 25-Oct-99 4 21 Waiting for Tonight 3 13-Mar-00 20 15 feat Big Pun and FAT JOE - Feelin' So Good 4 14-Aug-00 (5) 9 32 Let's Get Loud 5 22-Jan-01 4 17 Love Don't Cost a Thing 6 23-Apr-01 14 20 Play 7 27-Aug-01 25 15 Ain't it Funny 8 29-Oct-01 3 27 feat JA RULE - I'm Real 9 22-Apr-02 (2) 9 15 feat JA RULE - Ain't it Funny 10 15-Jul-02 (2) 16 17 feat NAS - I'm Gonna Be Alright 11 25-Nov-02 (2) 5 20 feat Jadakiss and Styles - Jenny From the Block 12 17-Mar-03 2 21 feat LL COOL J - All I Have 13 30-Jun-03 10 12 I'm Glad 14 21-Feb-05 3 22a Get Right 15 20-Jun-05 17 12 feat FAT JOE - Hold You Down 16 15-May-06 17 17 LL COOL J feat - Control Myself 17 8-Oct-07 18 9 Do it Well 18 28-Feb-11 10 1* feat PITBULL - On the Floor PEAKERS & MOVERS: Far East Movement climb one place to a new peak of No.17 with their second single "Rocketeer", and climbing eleven places to score his first ARIA Singles Chart Top 20 hit is Lupe Fiasco's "The Show Goes On", up to No.19 this week, plus right behind him at No.20 is Ke$ha's "Blow", up four places from it's debut last week. Albums Michael Buble's "Crazy Love" spends its 70th week in the charts at No.1 for a second week, now having amassed five weeks at No.1, which has been helped of course by his current national tour.
