Sharon Cohen, better known by her stage name of Dana International, the winner of the 1998 Eurovision Song Contest, is set to take part in the Israeli national selection, the Israeli broadcaster IBA confirms

International, who won Europe's favourite TV-show with the hit record Diva - lyrics written by the current Israeli Head of Delegation, Yoav Ginai - has apparently decided to make a comeback to the Eurovision Song Contest scene.

You can see all the finalist below.

Knob - Ohev Et Ze

Dana International - Ding Dong

Hatikva 6 - Hakol Sababa

Vladi Bleiberg - Lirkod

Chen Aharoni - Or

Michael Greilsommer - Tu Du Du

Sivan Bahanam - Kach Oti

Adi Cohen - Al Ahava

Niki Goldstein - Amri Itach

Idit Halevi - It's My Time

This makes it Dana's third attempt to represent her country and bringing the victory back to her homeland for the fourth time.

National final will be on 8th of March

'It's My Time' LOL

Israel is in my Top 3 favourite ESC countries, if not #1. So can't wait.

Israel was one of my favorites until 2010, my favorite countries atm is Finland and Norway, followed close by Estonia

OMG you GUYS, I heard Ding Dong might be being produced by David Guetta!

GAY COMAS ALL AROUND

Link thanks to Peter!

It's catchy but there's no passion in the chorus or her voice :( Definitely nothing approaching a winner...

That's just the STUDIO version Rich, I think the Diva performance showed Dana is more than capable of producing something far more than the sum of its parts when she has to!

ANYWAY, http://www.moopy.org.uk/forums/images/icons/disco.gif

Chen Aharoni - Or is FAR better than the Dana International song, and has a bigger chance of doing well imo! Pavel will love it.
Oh yeah totally smoking hot, heard it a couple of days ago. It's AMAZING.

I donno.. anyway I think I have watched something else and not the final... it was just people discussing eurovision... :P

yupp it's only allowed to be watched from Israel

If Israel choose wisely, they could find themselves top five in my rankings for the first time since 2005 :D But looking at the way other country's NF's have gone, I'm not that optimistic...

Hmm...

Returning winner comes back after about 10 years with an out of touch (with Eurovision) hi-NRG song, easily wins the jury vote in their national final but comes 2nd in the televote.

Anyone reckon she'll 'do a Charlotte Perrelli' in ESC? It practically screams it to me. Ding Dong is no second winner, although it could potentially be great if they remix the track or give it some more oomph a la Hera Bjork last year. Interesting to see two returning winners in the same contest but I really don't see either Dana or Lena making it two in a row.

I really thought Or would have a chance but it didn't seem to make any impact whatsoever on the jury vote or televote  :(

Happy to see Dana International back. Along with Jedward and Blue, it'll help to raise the profile of the contest in the UK. I quite like the song but agree that it's a little weak and needs that extra oomph.

Oh I definitely agree with that, no doubt it will be the most talked about since 1998 pre-contest wise in the week running up to the contest! Maybe we could see higher ratings and more Eurovision 'hit singles' this year?

Probably my favourite entry from Israel that I can remember - they're never really awful (well, 2007), but never stand out for me. Can see it becoming one of my favourites this year.
Israel is probably my favourite country in ESC, too bad they sent this crap this time
