Posted February 27, 201114 yr Due to Drop in Ratings, Nick Returns Classic Lineup Jacob Suarez Online Editor Teenagers can finally rejoice because they now will be receiving what they have been talking about for years. For awhile now teens have been wishing that Nickelodeon will finally put their favorite cartoons back on the air and now their wish will come true. Starting March 14, 2011, Nickelodeon will go back into the studios to produce new episodes for classic cartoons such as: Rocket Power, Doug, Rugrats, Hey Arnold, the Angry Beavers, and many more. Cyma Zarghami, who runs the television station was quoted saying, “We have noticed a significant drop in ratings since our show from the late 1990’s. We have strayed from our cartoons and we believe that was our biggest mistake. We have contacted the producers from these shows and we were able to work out a deal to get them back to making new episodes.” It is not known whether or not the shows will try to create new concepts for the characters, or if they will pick up from where they left off years ago. Rumors have been circulating that the kids in the shows have now aged and will be moving on with their lives. For instance, the gang from Rocket Power now have taken the leap into their teenage years and now attend high school in Ocean Shores, or Arnold and his pals from Hey Arnold, have now moved on from elementary school to middle school in New York. Whatever new ideas they bring to the table they will be welcomed with open arms and hopefully they can remove the bad taste in our mouths from terrible shows that are on Nick now like iCarly, Big Time Rush, and TUFF Puppy. Zarghami has not stated if the shows will be brought back full time or if it is making a comeback for a limited time to revitalize the Nickelodeon networks poor reputation in the new Millennium for cartoons and other shows. After the last episode of Rocket Power was aired, kids thought the only hope for Nickelodeon was Spongebob Squarepants but even that once great cartoon has had its own fall from grace. Teenagers have wanted to show kids now-a-days what a real cartoon is made of but never had the evidence to convince these pups. Starting next month; these kids are in for the surprise of their lives. If you're a 90's kid like me you'll probably be rejoicing that Nickelodeon are going back to what they do best, after their rubbish attempts of going all "Disney" on us that iCarly crap. Very excited about this... Anyone else excited?
February 27, 201114 yr I always preferred stuff like Sabrina and Sister Sister, but the cartoons were epic way back when. Cartoon Network should take note
February 28, 201114 yr RUGRATS, HEY ARNOLD & THE ANGRY BEAVERS!!!!!! omfg. I need to get Sky in my room.
February 28, 201114 yr Nickelodeon had an amazing mixture of cartoons and live shows back in the 90s/early 00s. As did Cartoon Network and heck even Disney Channel. I don't know if it's just because I've grown up now but kids TV is atrocious so I welcome a return from old favourites! Must try and get the kids package on Sky if they ever get aired here. Also Nickelodeon does still make new episodes of the amazing Fairly Odd Parents right? One of the only decent cartoons in years. Sponge Bob never attracted me, too damn annoying.
February 28, 201114 yr RUGRATS, HEY ARNOLD & THE ANGRY BEAVERS!!!!!! omfg. I need to get Sky in my room. I just got it installed. I'm more happy than ever with it now all these shows are coming back  Nickelodeon had an amazing mixture of cartoons and live shows back in the 90s/early 00s. As did Cartoon Network* *Toonami = Dragon Ball Z, Tenchi, Card Captors  I miss my childhood. Coming home and doing my home work to watch DBZ and Tenchi :(
February 28, 201114 yr Amanda Show, Rugrats, Fairly Odd Parents, Sabrina, Sister Sister and Spongebob were always the best imo .
February 28, 201114 yr I always preferred stuff like Sabrina and Sister Sister, but the cartoons were epic way back when. Cartoon Network should take note YES. nickolodeon is alright, but it's all about the old (late 1990s) cartoons on cartoon network. I'd say just about every cartoon on there was great, until ben 10 came along. :puke: ever since around then, cartoons have been going downhill. damn, I feel nostalgiac now. February 28, 201114 yr One show that comes to mind when I think of Nickelodeon is... KENAN AND KEL  It's the only show that matters when it comes to Nickelodeon tbh. But very much looking forward to seeing new Rugrats, Hey Arnold and Angry Beavers
February 28, 201114 yr Author I agree about Cartoon Network. The would needs Cow & Chicken, Dexter's Lab and Power Puff Girls. I'm so excited, especially since they've got the original creators to do it again!! No Wild Thornberries by the looks of it though
February 28, 201114 yr On Cartoon Network, I remember coming home from school and it was always a triple whammy with Dexter's Lab, Johnny Bravo and Cow & Chicken. Nickelodeon was a good channel but apart from a couple of cartoons, I found the shows to be better. (Kenan & Kel, Amanda Show, Sister Sister, Sabrina etc...)
February 28, 201114 yr i've never watched nicklodeon cos we never had it but i used to love watching rugrats on citv or whichever channel it was on. it was all about cartoon network though with the flinstones and tom & jerry
February 28, 201114 yr So, Basically all the TV shows from the late 90's were far superior to their modern counterparts. Modern kids can keep their Hannah Montana's because it's clearly all about Lizzy McGuire.
February 28, 201114 yr Rugrats  I loved Sabrina too....oh and Are you afraid of the dark was awesome! It's great news they want to try out the original formula again, too many Hannah Montana wannabe shows around these days. :drama: I agree about Cartoon Network. No Wild Thornberries by the looks of it though  Isn't the creator of Rugrats also the creator of the Wild Thornberries? So if Rugrats is coming back it's not impossible the Thornberries might make a comeback somewhere down the line. Edited February 28, 201114 yr by Sabrewulf

Although I always used to think the older sister, Debbie was the best.

You've given me hope   :cheer: Hope they get the original actor who played Nigel, his voice was amazing! And of course Debbie (Pre-teen Ke$ha) was clearly the best character
February 28, 201114 yr I was an avid viewer of Nickelodeon in the late 90s, me and my sister grew up watching very little else! Rugrats was and still is the best cartoon but i do agree that shows like Sabrina, Sister Sister, Kenan and Kel and Two Of A Kind were some of the better shows  Looking forward to Hey Arnolds (and Dougs) return aswell, but Angry Beavers was tripe as was Catdog etc.. P.S Does anyone remember when Nickelodeon used to do them battle week/weekends where theyd pit shows agaisnt each other and you could vote for what show to put on.... usually always leading to either a Sister Sister or Sabrina win?
