May 13, 201114 yr Author It isn't happening, regardless of what the odds say. I can almost guarantee you that Jedward won't finish in the top three.
May 13, 201114 yr Well the top will be tight, your not exactly putting yourself on the line by saying top 3. I've invested £30 in them for the interest since my Hungry bet seems to have gone sideways.
May 13, 201114 yr Well...I've run through the voting and come out with this. I'm tired, excuse any bizarre errors. I've been saying France are going to win for days, but I'm beginning to doubt their ability to landslide it now. The last three winners have all been ahead by a pretty high margin, and have all been pretty modern songs... Fourth year in a row wouldn't be too surprising at all... In all honesty though, I really don't know, and now the fact that I'm predicting Germany so high is making me even more confused! United Kingdom 278France 257Germany 243Azerbaijan 232Russia 174Denmark 141Estonia 135Hungary 132Sweden 130Ukraine 115Austria 105Ireland 93Greece 82Bosnia-Herzegovina 67Serbia 65Italy 38Romania 35Georgia 33Slovenia 29Finland 28Moldova 22Iceland 21Switzerland 19Lithuania 13Spain 7
May 13, 201114 yr Author I'm seeing Germany third given their draw now actually...and there's no way Iceland will be bottom five.
May 13, 201114 yr My prediction for the final, the best I got it was in 2007 when I got the top 4 spot on and in the correct order :funky: But don't expect that this year... 1. France 2. United Kingdom 3. Russia 4. Denmark 5. Sweden 6. Estonia 7. Azerbaijan 8. Germany 9. Ireland 10. Hungary 11. Bosnia-Herzegovina 12. Greece 13. Serbia 14. Ukraine 15. Austria 16. Iceland 17. Romania 18. Finland 19. Georgia 20. Switzerland 21. Italy 22. Moldova 23. Slovenia 24. Lithuania 25. Spain I do still think that France will beat the UK, not sure by how much though, I'd dearly love for it to be the other way round - I DO think that this will be the top two though, and have done for many months now. The draw hasn't convinced me otherwise. I don't think Lena will pick up quite the support that others think but top ten looks very possible. There isn't a whole lot for the East to throw their weight behind, and a lot of them have got terrible draws, so I think Russia will hoover up a lot of those votes and get top three. Considering they won with Believe (which is imo inferior to Get You) and came 11th with that turd last year, I can't see them missing the top five this year. Any of Denmark, Sweden, Estonia and Azerbaijan could complete the top five, but Denmark's rousing anthem will stand out from where it's performing and it could be 4th place for the 2nd year in a row for them. Sweden will hopefully return to their favourite position of 5th place and Eric Saade will be one of the talking points of the night no matter what happens but I am wondering if I'm letting my own opinion of the song get in the way and overrating it  Estonia should comfortably finish top ten, could squeak into the top five but the vocals have been a bit off and the draw isn't in her favour. Azerbaijan I'm perhaps predicting dangerously low here, but Austria are really going to show them up imo. And then Germany, Ireland (yes I do think it'll go top ten) and fan favourite Hungary to just about get into that top ten. Poor Bosnia-Herzegovina will have been killed off a little by their draw, but I still wouldn't have predicted higher than 8th for it in any circumstance. Greece and Ukraine don't have great entries but their usual support will push them up, although hopefully not to the top ten for once this year. Serbia, Austria and Iceland should all benefit from good draws, but only to the respect of getting mid-table results I think, I'd be surprised to see any of them higher - although elated for Austria of course - as much as I love the song though, it seems to be Nadine getting the hype as opposed to her song. Romania, Finland and Georgia are all dark horses whom I'd not be surprised to find any of 5-10 places higher than I've predicted. Switzerland is perhaps TOO simple to make an impact, bordering on forgettable, but it won't come last. Italy as well might do a bit better than I'm predicting, but not that much better - 15th at best. I'm praying that Moldova don't do any better than bottom five but they might well do. Slovenia have a great draw and I don't know why I'm putting them so low, I just can't imagine votes flocking in from them for many places sadly :( And then Lithuania and Spain are surely the bottom two.
May 13, 201114 yr I sort of agree with you but surely those who vote for pretty man singing a pop tune will vote Sweden instead of Russia? I know they have the Eastern support behind but still. And I would put Bosnia in top 5 as the song is amazingly strong. It might even win the jury vote. And don't forget Dino Merlin is huge star in Balkan area. I still don't get Azerbaijan at all but maybe Europe in general will. My prediction: 1. France 2. Estonia 3. United Kingdom 4. Denmark 5. Bosnia-Herzegovina 6. Sweden 7. Azerbaijan 8. Russia 9. Serbia 10. Ukraine 11. Germany 12. Hungary 13. Finland 14. Greece 15. Romania No idea about the rest... My favourites are Bosnia, Estonia and Hungary but can't see any of them winning sadly. Bosnia is too classy, Estonia too edgy and Hungary lacks the oooh-factor despite being very good. Edited May 13, 201114 yr by SKOB
May 13, 201114 yr Why are the big 5 the big 5 again? And why was the orders done by cards and not balls in a hidden pot, that could be like picking the bottom card from a deck. Edited May 13, 201114 yr by TeaAndToast
May 13, 201114 yr I'm not really seeing them in the top ten either. It's already top ten on iTunes in Sweden and rapidly climbing everywhere else (top 40 in Germany!), they'll surely be top ten? I don't think the juries will be as mean as we expect and they'll storm the public vote no doubt. I'm saying 9th for now but as high as low top five wouldn't surprise me now :o And whilst it will be great for Ireland to get their best result since the 90s, I also think that the act most famous for being X Factor's biggest novelty act doing well (I think they had more impact than Chico and Wagner personally) will just reinforce the dated/unfair view in the UK that it's a joke contest not to be taken seriously :(

The only thing I'm pretty certain on is that France, the UK and Russia will be top five and Lithuania will be bottom five.

May 13, 201114 yr Two words: Hera Bjork. She didn't do as badly as that, and from what I've seen What About My Dreams seems to be far more loved across the board than Je Ne Sais Quoi was. I can see it coming somewhere in between the fortunes of Shady Lady and Hero, no higher than 8th, no lower than 14th.

Hera came 18th and had a later draw. 5th isn't great to begin with, and I can see Wolfie getting massively overshadowed by the next six tracks sadly. :( I do say that 14th to 22nd are pretty much interchangable though, and I wouldn't be hugely surprised if she came top ten (I'd be ecstatic), but I'm not seeing it happening for her.

We'll see. Maybe I'm being optimistic with top ten but I don't see it missing the top 15 whatever happens. I don't remember than fans all uniting to go so over the top about a song for years, the loons (the ones who voted for it 10/20 times in the semi for example ) will ensure it doesn't flop too hard. It's far more worshipped than Je Ne Sais Quoi ever was. And with that in mind, I feel like a flop schlager fan that it's never gone higher than 5th in my rankings :o But it did click properly this week so maybe it's just a late bloomer for me. Indeed, and Hero finished 18th... Exactly, 8th-14th is between 2nd and 18th!
