already have my ticket for Reading, not too fussed though as it will be my 6th year and i'm going to Glasto for the first time and will $h!t all over Reading.

I really hope it's not MCR headlining, just because, despite my hatred, thats weak as, MCR really don't pull a crowd these days, didnt sell out many dates of their arena tour this year, i can't see them pulling off a main stage headline slot at Reading, hopefully they will pull someone epic out of the bag and have MCR in the subheadline slot. seriously compare MCR to blink-182 last year, blink pulled 100,000 people at Reading and have sold out an arena tour that's bigger than the unsold out arena tour MCR have just done, not really in the same league are they.

i only really care about the lock up stage though.

The Strokes will be good hopefully, but I'll be seeing them before anyway. Muse I saw at Wembley and they're always good. MCR can f*** off.

It's all about seeing what the other stages have on.

Sounds like a good three to me, although My Chemical Romance could easily be replaced by the likes of Green Day or an older band making a comeback.

Maybe a little far fetched but some are saying Blur subbed by Pulp. That would be cool :D

Nah can't see that, I am fairly sure Pulp will be subbing The Strokes though!

yes because that is the entire line up, 3 bands.

infact in 2007 i didnt see any of the headline bands and had one of the best weekends of my life and saw loads of my favourite ever bands, you can't judge a line up from the inevitably $h!t headliners. especially when the best sets are never even on the main stage.

My Chem are the worst headliner since Razorlight, which is still one of my best and funniest memories of Reading, theres nothing like a good bit of universal hatred for a headline act.

Not really worth spending about £300 quid though, just for a bit of banter? :(

Yes but at the same time there is the lock up stage which is worth £300. as I said, it's not about the headliners, those are only 3 bands, but some of the $h!t MCR will get will be priceless, last time they played Reading they got bottled majorly, people arent going to take well to them being headliners.

Muse, MCR and The Strokes is a GOOD line-up. All exclusive for starters. Like or loathe MCR, they put on a good live show, and y'know pre-Black Parade they were atculllyr REALLY good. I just don't understand the hate/disappointment really, sure they're no Foo Fighters but I can 100% betif you wanted to see Foo Fighters in the next year you really could do it itt, v.easily.

like or loathe MCR they just failed to sell out a UK arena tour, something that all the headliners last year can do, MCR are just not big enough to draw a crowd anymore, let alone close the entire festival. they would be a good booking, just not headlining.

I agree. They'd be excellent sub-headliners, but who else could they have booked? They've gone for exclusitivy the headliners this year, as none of the headliners are headlining any other festivals. I'd have liked to have seen someone like Eminem headlining, but he has played just about every other festival of late (bar Glastonbury). I think MCR will draw a decent sized crowd, but I guess it just depends whose headlining the NME tent.

i think they will either draw a decent sized crowd, but still not big enough for a headline slot, or they will get alot of $h!t.

also, look just how terrible they are live:

i'm pretty sure MCR are only headlining because they failed to outbid Download to get System of a Down.

also plenty of headliners they could get, Daft Punk, Kayne West, Green Day, AC/DC, Bob Dylan, Iron Maiden could all pull off headlining Reading, where as MCR won't.

IMO they should have got Green Day or Iron maiden and have MCR subbing, that would look much stronger to me, where as you compare to say T in the Park who have about 6 bands capable of headlining Reading, where as Reading can only really seem to scrap two headliners together every year.
