March 26, 201114 yr i am genuinely impressed by the line up this year (much better than last time if i remember right!) it would seem so weird to have acts like little boots and la roux up there now, yet it was only 2 years ago when they were. HOPING i can get a ticket to leeds, my friend might be able to sell me one so figers crossed. it's just a shame that i'm going to have to choose between the strokes and crystal castles :( woah, definatly not. it's an alright line up but last year was one of the best I have seen in my 5 years of going, infact i'd say last year was an actual Reading line up, like how it used to be before they started indiefying the festival an uneeded amount.

I can only remember the top three/four main stage acts (plus Pendulum) from last year but to have a day with GnR headlining but me being more interested in the three bands underneath them is quite something. The Arcade Fire/Libertines combo was excellent, as was Blink/Paramore. Actually that's a point - I do like MCR but would Pendulum have made equally good headliners? Of their latest albums, "Immersion" was a fair bit bigger than "Danger Days" and they've got a brilliant live reputation, deservedly so.

As bad as GnR are, you can't really use that as an arguement when MCR are in their spot this time, as bad as GnR are at the same time as headlining Reading they had sold out many arena shows in the UK the same year, where as MCR didnt even sell out one of their arena dates when people didnt know they would be at Reading either. last year had a massive comeback from blink-182 aswell as a massive comeback from The Libertines, both only doing Reading that year, no other dates, as well as having the first Weezer show since 2005, aswell as having massive hits from Pendulum, Arcade Fire, Bad Religion, and a very good line up outside headliners (NoFX, Cypress Hill, QOTSA, etc) being strong every day. where as this year we have Muse who practically everyone has seen, yes they are amazing but hardly a special booking considering the amount of oppotunity to see them in the last 2 years, MCR who can't sell an arena tour, and a massive amount of filler during the whole festival, no where near as strong as the daytime last year, last year we had blink-182 and the libertines exclusivly, this year we have no one anywhere near as capable as pulling in the crowds they pulled, which is evident as the fact the festival normally sells out within about 3 hours but this year, still on sale now.
March 26, 201114 yr Looking back actually, the line up wasn't as bad as I thought. I always find that I prefer the bands in the NME/Dance/Festival republic tents over the main stage and when I do go to the main stage it's always VERY disappointing due to the huge scale of it (Enter Shikari in 2009 were DIRE but have been amazing when I've seen them in the past)

March 26, 201114 yr The Offspring are going to be incredible. I've literally been waiting for about 12 years to see them live so I CANNOT wait

March 28, 201114 yr Yeees just saw that! I wasn't really going to see Muse this time as I've seen them before and have gone off them A LOT recently... but i have to admit i'm quite tempted now
March 29, 201114 yr Matt bellamy tweeted saying they are likely to be doing Origin in full! Really? Not sure about that... it is one of their best and I'd be happy to see songs like "Bliss" come back into the set over some of the Resistance filler but it could be a little one-dimensional.

The media's been all over it, I'd guess it's likely to happen. They've already toured The Resistance to death haven't they? And they don't have a new album out this year (although don't quote me on that lol..). They'll get the two hour headline slot aswell so I think it will be pretty likely.
April 1, 201114 yr Glassjaw added... doesn't affect me at all as i've never listened to them but it's worth noting
April 1, 201114 yr Glassjaw will pull quite a big crowd, but why on earth are they between Everything Everything and Bombay Bicycle Club :s talk about misplaced.
April 2, 201114 yr The whole shape of the line-up this year doesn't seem to make any sense to me at all. It doesn't flow for the most part and acts are misplaced way out of position. NME Stage (Friday Leeds) is ridiculous. Warpaint - P!ATD - DFA1979 - The Streets - 2manydjs. Enter Shikari inbetween The View and Friendly Fires. Jane's Addiction headlining NME when The Strokes/Pulp headline the Main Stage. I do love Leeds and Reading but it's a very odd structure to the line-up this year. THEY'VE PULLED OFWGKTA OUT THE BAG THO SO I DONT CARE
April 2, 201114 yr yeah i can see alot of times when your trying to get to and from a stage between bands that there will be a lot of crushing. like i remember a few years ago lethal bizzle had just been on NME, and frank turner was next, so you have loads of people leaving after bizzle, and loads of people trying to get in for frank. it makes no sense. and when a few years ago there was Crystal Castles then Gaslight Anthem, and after CC the place just emptied and then filled up again for Gaslight, infact I had never seen such a lack of crowd as I had then, there was only like 2 rows of people. it just doesnt take too much thinking to not put certain bands in certain places.
April 14, 201114 yr I shouldn't have mocked this, the full Glastonbury lineup is also disappointing. :(
April 14, 201114 yr I shouldn't have mocked this, the full Glastonbury lineup is also disappointing. :( it's alright, i plan to be too drugged up the whole weekend to notice what the line up is like. also no DFA1979 which gives me lots of bragging rights against you.
April 17, 201114 yr Do we know when we're getting the next announcement? apparently the dance tent is annouced tomorrow night. i havent seen anything official saying that though. if it is i hope mike davies will be annoucing lock up on his show, but normally he says in advance when he is annoucing it.
