Of course it got a great reception - my god - if they'll cheer Dermot they'll cheer anything.

I don't think the Take That song came across very well - not as good as the album. Having heard it again though - I realise I only like the chorus.

The chorus is def the best part of the song, not sure if its going to be an offical single or not but while i like it its not the best single choice. In a way i think if there is going to be a thirs single this will be it as sos has already been used to promote the album on royal variety so i cant see happy now been also used as promo only aswell. Either way whether it picks up decent download sales tonighyt or not i think people will just buy the album.

Im the opposite i thought the performance came accross very well and much better than the album version, but im a sucker for live vocals and performances and prefer them over album versions anyday, especially from artists like take that who are very strong at delivering live performances and vocals consistantly.

I reckon they've just sang Happy Now as it goes with the night - especially the uplifting clips they've shown. I doubt its a single release at all. If people choose to download it then that's their prerogative (I'm not sure many will mind - looking on some independent forums - most people don't like the song anyway.)

I have to admit I was wrong about something - as much as I disliked (still dislike) The Flood - looking at it objectively - it IS the only song that stood a chance as a single. I don't think there are any songs on the album other than it that would trouble the top 10. I'm not saying there aren't songs I like better - I do - but having listened to other 'impartial' people - The Flood was the only song that ever had a chance as a single.

I actually see what your saying, while progress is strong there isnt much that scream out single, kylie;s recent album aphrodite had the same problem, in its entirety the album is great but there isnt anything screaming out singles apart from the lead single which is both cases were the right choices.

8 letters isn the only take that sound of old on the album that i think would be a nice single but no matter whats picked it wont do well single wise. Kidz i did think would do much better as its catchy and pretty much radio friendly but as i said before when an album sells 2 million copies within 5 months it kills the single chances.

The video to Happy Now was good and Fearne has said that it is available to download so we'll see

Its a shame to be honest. I hoped they would have performed Kidz to give it a boost into the mid 20's but for some reason they focused just on Happy Now. Its 265 on iTunes at the moment so there's no chance of an impact on the charts

Fake That wasn't as funny as I thought it was going to be :( The best bit was the end when they were in their old Do What U Like gear. And they should've performed Kidz or something, hearing Happy Now twice in the space of 45 minutes diminished the effect of the video a bit.

I didnt expect a huge surge on downloads but it will probably climb a bit in the next 24 hrs although chances are rule the world is probably still selling more than it. It was a good opportunity to perform and prmote kidz but it looks like they know its like flogging a dead horse as even if they did perform it i still couldnt see it going any higher than its original peak on sunday, as i said before i think they are just promoting the album rather than individual singles.

Take That and their management are starting to p!ss me off now.

They do no promo for Kidz and it charts lower than some of their songs from the early days. It would have been easy for them to get a couple of interviews/dancing on ice etc but from where im standing they just havent been bothered.

They moved The Flood forward a week and left the promo for the week after causing it to miss out on the number 1

Happy Now? well if it is the third single I doubt we are going to see another performance of it.

P!ss poor management, and funnily enough Robbie wants to sign with Polydor as he has been 'impressed' by the way they have handled Take That's promo....No comment!

I have to agree. We constantly get told about Take That's 'sense of humour' (and they do have it - watch the extras from The Circus Tour, BW Tour, various Jonathon Ross nights, The Circus Comes To Town - with Geraldine, etc) and yet - when they have a heavily promoted 'thing' such as this - its (to be quite frank) boring! Not their fault - the scripting of it was just awful! The same with Rob's Little Britain thing last year - that was dreadfully unfunny too!

Set alongside the other comedy/musical acts of the nights - it was definitely the unfunniest. I thought Susan Boyle/Peter Kay was brilliant - and also JLS (these guys SO impressed me with their comedic timing) and Miranda Hart.

I don't know what to make of Take That at the moment - but one things for sure - I'm glad I'm not going to the Progress Tour.

I'm glad the song's doing well - I just wish the sketch had been funnier! It was bigged up way too much ... and little JLS truly showed them up on how to do laughs!

#42 still isnt amazing, its gona end up in the 90's somewhere at best when the charts are announced on Sunday at this rate.

All i can say is I hope they have some bloody good songs lined up for the extended edition of Progress. Only then will I think sacrificing the promo to Kidz was a good move.

im really surprised by how well its doings i never expected it to climb so high, sketchs to me are always a let down i never get excited about them anymore as i have been left disapointed so many times, so tonight was good as i expected to be honest.

I didn't see a lot of the later stuff last night but on the whole I thought it was possibly the worst Comic Relief show I've seen. The only two things that had me genuinely laughing was the Geraldine/SuBo duet and the James Corden sketch, though that was due to the amazing amount of celebs-I can't sand Corden.

The sketches were ok for what they were, geraldine and subo was the best but i still wouldnt say fantastic.

DOES anyone know where happy now is on itunes at the moment?

#21. It will probably dip off a bit now though.

jesus christ #21 is absoilutly brilliant, i never saw that coming at all and it also means it has peaked higher than kidz ever managed on itunes which could possibly open up the debate would have happy days have been a better second single choice than kidz?

Im just after finding out a way i can see the uk itunes update (thanks bray) and i just saw happy now is #22, kidz is #30 and the flood is #73, kidz has climbed a few places and the flood has jumped quite a alot, im sure all that will surely bring the album back into the top25 tomorrow.
