Shaping up to be one of the closest yet in the Premier League history. 40 points is generally seen as the bench mark for survival, but I'm not sure whether that will be enough this season. Probably 42/43 looks the absolute safety mark.

I think ANY of Stoke, West Brom, West Ham, Wigan, Birmingham, Blackpool or Wolves could go down. Two months ago, West Ham looked an absolute certainty to go down, but I think they'll escape now. For me, Wigan and Blackpool are certs to go down, but it's that final spot I'm not sure about. Wolves will JUST escape imo, West Brom should get away with Hodgson, I'm not sure about Birmingham, and I think Stoke have just enough in them to survive (although the FA Cup could be their downfall...). Thoughts?

Knew I'd missed a team off - can add Blackburn to that list

Wigan, Blackpool and West Brom for me (well when I last did the predictor I got them 3 anyway). Shame about Wigan tbh, I quite like them and think they have a team good enough to be a solid Premiership team, but it's not working out for them.
I want Blackburn, West Brom and Wolves to go down. Blackpool deserve to stay. Guess Wigan's relegation is inevitable now - how many years did they have in the top flight?
As a Hammer, I'm really hoping that the ludicrous improvement we've seen in our strikers recently is enough to see us through. Very good point today, and with some of our rivals doing better than expected it could be invaluable. Saying that, we've got a HIDEOUS run-in.

It's very tight down there after today's results. Goals disallowed, a dubious penalty or so the pundit I was watching claimed at Ewood Park. Looking forward to seeing the highlights later.

Hard to predict though, hoping Blackburn, West Brom and Wigan go down.

West Ham have a very good team. Noble-Park-Hitz is a VERY good midfield, I can't think of many more better midfields apart from the obvious ones. Your attack is vey good, but the defence is well, it needs big improvement to say the least. Villa look like they could be pulled into the mix too...its pretty exciting.

I want Wigan to survive I predict

- Wolves

That's all i know.

Newcastle, Stoke and West Ham olol

In seriousness I don't really care, as a Sunderland supporter it's nice not being mentioned in the same sentence as the words "relegation battle", but we're going to have a big say in it.

Our final 7 fixtures of the season:

West Brom (Home), Birmingham (Away), Wigan (Home), Fulham (Home), Bolton (Away), Wolves (Home), West Ham (Away)

West Ham have, in my opinion, a top 10 first team. It's just they've struggled for fitness this season. It's no surprise they're bottom when at times their midfield was something like Sears - Dyer - Spector - Boa Morte

I think Wolves are the only other ones I think will be safe now, and you have to add Villa and Newcastle in there now, both on poor runs.

9 Sunderland 29 -2 38

10 Stoke 30 -2 37

11 Newcastle 30 -1 36

12 Fulham 30 0 35

13 Blackburn 30 -12 33

14 Aston Villa 30 -14 33

15 Blackpool 30 -15 33

16 West Brom 30 -15 33

17 West Ham 30 -13 32

18 Wolves 30 -14 32

19 Birmingham 29 -13 31

20 Wigan 30 -22 30

I've said for a long while 40 points will send you down. Looks like it may well be true.

As a fan of a Championship team who's not likely to go up I'd be quite happy for Blackpool, Blackburn and Wigan to come down. I want Wigan to go down regardless, it was fun for a while but they've truly outstayed their welcome now.

There's no way Wolves will go down. Their remaining fixtures are Home: Everton, Fulham, West Brom, Blackburn. Away: Newcastle, Birmingham, Sunderland, Stoke

And with their recent form of 3 wins (Man Utd, Villa, Blackpool), 2 draws (West Brom, Spurs) and 1 defeat (Arsenal) they're on form, have started to pick up points from teams in the bottom half, and have the easiest run-in.

Edit: I did the BBC Predictor:

Man Utd 83

Arsenal 77

Chelsea 75

Man City 67

-

Spurs 63

-

Liverpool 53

Bolton 49

Everton 49

Sunderland 48

Stoke 44

-

West Ham 44

Villa 44

Fulham 43

Wolves 42

Newcastle 41

Birmingham 41

West Brom 41

-

Blackpool 39

Blackburn 37

Wigan 37

I don't for one minite think I'll be close...

Wolves have been fantastic all season. They've played some lovely football, but they've been very unlucky with injuries and decisions. In the January transfer window they strengthed massively aswell. Hammil is a brilliant little player (find it hard to believe Liverpool let him go so easily), and they create a lot of chances in games. We'll soon see. I'm hoping some of the Lancashire teams go down, there's far too many of them in the Premier League for my liking, especially when they're all within 30 minutes drive from each other and have embarrassing attendances.

If Wolves go down, it is a real shame - the football they've played all season (though the latter half of the season in particular) have been fantastic, Top 10 quality in points. They've really not had luck go their way, and I think one of their main problems is playing for 90 minutes - they seem to crumble and tire at around 70 minutes.

I also kinda want Blackpool to stay up, I've always backed those sort of sides who come up from the Championship unexpectedly, and then start off the season well (e.g. Hull, a few seasons back, but seeing as I live there, I supported them more )

Just did the BBC predictor thing too..

1. Man United 78

2. Arsenal 74

3. Chelsea 72

4. Man City 69

----------------------

5. Tottenham 66

6. Liverpool 58

7. Everton 55

8. Bolton 51

9. Sunderland 47

10. Newcastle 45

11. Stoke 43

12. Aston Villa 43

13. Blackpool 43

14. Birmingham 41

15. West Ham 41

16. Fulham 40

17. Wolves 40

-----------------------

18. Blackburn 38

19. West Brom 37

20. Wigan 32

Man United, Man City, Tottenham, Bolton, Newcastle, Stoke, Fulham and Wolves all have a game-in-hand for some reason

It's the games from the FA Cup semi final weekend haven't been re-arranged yet.

It's Stoke - Wolves

Man City - Spurs

Newcastle - Man Utd

Fulham - Bolton

Has been a weird season in general I think. The quality at the top of the league is as poor as ever. It will definitely be the worst Man Utd side to ever win the Premier League.
I think Wigan and Wolves are certainties. Not sure on the third - quite possibly Blackpool.

I'm a Wigan fan

I want West Brom to go down for sure!
