Posted March 19, 201114 yr I hate rugby - union or league. I think the BBC is giving it overkill on Saturdays. This week it's on 10 hours from 2pm to 10pm. Albeit with a news break. I think it's totally overkill. It's a good reason to have satelite. Do they think everybody likes rugby (and union's worse than league). I've nothing against it being on TV but this is madness. I couldn't even watch my favourite sports continuously for this long. Also why the main channel - why not BBC2 or BBC3. We've lost our evening programs for this rubbish.
March 19, 201114 yr Are you taking the p***? Watching sport should be encouraged in this country. We're dealing with the worst obesity problems we've ever seen, and kids watching sport (especially when we do well) actually makes kids WANT to get involved in it. BBC1. It is on there because it is considered important, and it is. It gets far better viewing figures than anything else that would be in the timeslot. What would be in its place? The Weakest link repeats? An ominus edition of Doctors? Yes, bloody brilliant, pivitol viewing! It's on for what, five weeks every year. We have to put up with two hours of Eastenders every week for 52 weeks. Case closed.
