I'm wondering that too. It's the one I really wanted & it has over 44k views on youtube so looks to be the most popular. :(

That's the one I have been waiting for, but no sign of it

Had a HUGE grin on my face (almost as big a Will's) hearing Will say on Something for Weekend, he is beyond happy with the album.

Thanks To Jeanette. Even the Mail are seeing the light.

Young's Grown Up

As most of us could have guessed, and history smugly confirms, the irony of Pop Idol was it didn't turn up any Idols. Gareth Gates? Michelle McManus? Sam & Mark? TV presenters, jobbing theatre performers or part-time speech therapists, yes. Pop idols, not so much.

Even first-series winner Will Young, with one of the few post-talent-show pop careers worth having, isn't really the idol type, though he has sold eight million records.

His appeal depends on quiet class, reliable quality and the trace of steel he showed in hopping promptly off Simon Cowell's conveyor belt of doom. He's likeable, modest, reflective and somewhat shrewd and, having steadily transcended his beginnings over a decade, he's fashioned Echoes in a tasteful attempt to see them off altogether.

Inspired by a recent collaboration with electronic duo Groove Armada, on his fifth album Young picks an assured path through the moody, sophisticated end of dance music, the type you don't necessarily dance to.

Echoes need alarm only the most hidebound Young fans: nothing here is much more hands-in-the-air than Dido, or Pet Shop Boys in their prime. But the ambiance suits him very well, along with the strong and personal songs.

Early standouts are the single Jealousy and especially the delicately soaring Lie Next To Me. Hearts on Fire and Good Things enter groovier territory, always with a sense that Young is singing about things he believes. So that Cowell business seems to have turned out for the best.

I'm really liking this album after a few listens! Some of the tracks on the first half took a while to grow (and the album mix of 'Jealousy' is a bit weird at first), but it is very strong overall. I've not listened to any of Will's past studio albums, but have listened to his Greatest Hits before, so I didn't really expect it to be so different. 'Jealousy' is now one of my favourite singles of his, and I can only the see the album continuing to grow! :D

People must have been watching tv this morning & that's even without a performance.

:w00t:

When Changes came out it got to #26 at about 4 pm on the Sunday afternoon but it took until Tuesday morning to enter the top 10 on iTunes.

I'm really hoping the performances this week will help it hold on. At the moment it's far exceeding my expectations.
