As Will has said next year is about the album until the end of 2012 and bearing in mind Echoes seems to be doing the round internally I'm expecting a push around the world towards for much of next year..if that happens i think we might be four singles this time, it makes sense if Will is still promoting it, so say Single two in time for the tour...single three Jan/Feb...one in May and the last August again.. what do you think?

I'm hoping for more than 3 this time Bev and I think we'll get them as long as the singles are selling the album. Will seems so much more passionate about promoting Echoes. I'm hoping the next single will be released end Nov/early December so Will is available for tv promo. Would also like a mixture of outdoor gigs & festivals next summer but I suppose that will depend on whether Will does take Echoes abroad.

Jealousy is at five on The Box most wanted chart tonight!

:cheer: That's good news, thanks Bev!

I've lost track of the video channels this week, too much else going on. But when I was dvd'ing the other day I realised that the first Jealousy videos shown excluded the swinging trapeze at the end - and I never copied any when they added it, so will have to capture it yet again now!

Yes it would be great to get some gigs next year..but i do wonder if he will be doing some overseas instead..it just all seems so likely at the moment, You made a good point about the next single being around Xmas time but i wonder if they will leave it so long? of course if Jealousy sticks around on airplay for a while that won't be a problem and as Will does seem to just love Echoes I'm hoping for four singles or is five :D too greedy?

I personally would love 'I just want a lover' to be single two as i can imgine it blasting out in all the clubs and he could have his first video involving a full on dance routine!

Another review with another favorite..how is he going to choose his second single? What a fab dilemma as an artist..it means that the quality and appeal extends to many tracks rather than just a couple.

Will Young: Echoes – Standout Track Runaway

It’s hard to believe it is nearly 10 years ago that Will Young won Britain’s Pop Idol. He has just released his fifth album Echoes, and it’s easily one of the best of 2011 so far!

The album strays far from the somewhat generic pop songs he is known for. In a bold move, he’s crafted 13 downtempo synth pop songs with producer Richard X, and come close to perfection in the process!

One of the standout tracks is Runaway. I’ve literally had it on repeat all morning. I’m hoping that it is chosen as a single as I’m interested to hear some remixes, although I know they would have a hard time topping the original!

Irish official chart

Echoes enters at # 12 ( the same as LIG that spent 7 weeks on the chart)

Jealousy enters at 23 ( changes entered at #32 and had physical sales ..only spent 3 weeks on the chart)

This needs to be added to the chart thread for Will...please lovely mods

Thanks Sunday.

Will be my pleasure to add a new entry for Echoes. :yahoo:

Wonder if he could go higher in Ireland. His airplay has risen a little & he's done a couple of radio interviews. Will the Special be shown there?

I don't know I was wondering that  but I noticed that in Ireland tracks/albums have more of a chance of climbing than here...so here's hoping :cheer:

I was wondering..is he focussing on the UK again with this album or will it get an international release?

We aren't sure but there seems a lot of interest overseas in this release. Sunday found a date for South Africa.

Thanks again for updating.

I've also updated the single & album pinned topics.

Ok, so nothing has been confirmed yet? Long live cdwow, otherwise I could've waited even longer for the album. And..I really hope they promote the album when they release it in Europe.

You're welcome :D

Top of the Pops: ex-reality TV stars expected to dominate UK charts

Will Young, Olly Murs and Joe McElderry defy talent show expectations with newfound chart success

It is little surprise when reality pop, manipulated by Simons Cowell and Fuller, dominates the pop charts in the runup to Christmas. But with August not even out, their iron grip is tightening earlier than ever this year.

ITV alumni look to be holding the singles and album double this weekend. Original Pop Idol winner Will Young is expected to score a No 1 album with his new collection Echoes, while former X Factor runner-up Olly Murs should achieve his second No 1 single with Heart Skips A Beat.

Meanwhile, Joe McElderry, who beat Murs but lost out in the real world, having been dropped by Cowell after failing to fly commercially, is likely to score a No 2 album. McElderry's resurgence comes after winning another ITV talent show, Popstar to Operastar.

Tomorrow's album chart will be the first in 31 weeks where the singer Adele won't be in the top two.

Ben Cardew, news editor of the industry magazine Music Week, said: "Singers that come from talent shows are often supposed to have really short-lived careers and, while there are certainly many examples of this, the success of Murs and in particular Will Young show this is not necessarily the case."

Young has proved that reality pop stars can break the mould. Having enjoyed a decade of consistent success and credibility, his new electro-flavoured album was made with hipster producer Richard X and has been earning him the best reviews of his career.

"Talent shows can – and do – give singers a massive boost to launch their careers but they need to be cleverly A&R-d and marketed if they are to survive," said Cardew. "Will Young is a great example of this: he's changed his sound and matured with his audience and his new album could be massive."

The former X-Factor finalists Cher Lloyd, Matt Cardle and Leona Lewis are all putting out new material this season.

In what will be happier news for those who consider themselves "real music" fans, Noel Gallagher, who resisted the big bucks advances of Simon Cowell to join the revamped X Factor judging panel, is expected to go top 10 with his solo debut The Death Of You And Me. That will be Gallagher's second piece of good news of the week, after brother Liam dropped legal action over allegations relating to the Oasis split in 2009.
