Posted March 29, 201114 yr Beyoncé will no longer be managed by her father, Mathew Knowles, her publicist said Monday. The Grammy-winning singer and her father have parted ways "on a business level," publicist Yvette Noel-Schure told The Associated Press in a statement. "I am grateful for everything he has taught me," Beyoncé said in the statement. "I grew up watching both he and my mother manage and own their own businesses. They were hardworking entrepreneurs and I will continue to follow in their footsteps." She didn’t say what led to the split, but her father said in a separate statement to the AP late Monday that the decision was mutual. In the statement, Beyoncé stressed her devotion to her father on a personal level. "He is my father for life and I love my Dad dearly. I am grateful for everything he has taught me,” Beyoncé said. Knowles also got personal in his statement. "Business is business and family is family. I love my daughter and am very proud of who she is and all that she has achieved. I look forward to her continued great success," he said. Knowles and Beyoncé's mother, Tina, divorced in 2009 after 29 years of marriage. Tina Knowles worked as a stylist for Destiny’s Child and continues to style her daughter. Together they launched a clothing line, House of Dereon. Noel-Schure didn't comment on who Beyoncé's new manager would be. Knowles said his plans include focusing on his label's work in gospel and inspirational music, where he said the company has made a "tremendous investment." MATHEW’S STATEMENT The decision for Beyoncé and Music World Entertainment to part was mutual. We did great things together, and I know that she will continue to conquer new territories in music and entertainment. Currently, I am very focused on the tremendous investment that our record label has made in the gospel/inspirational genre of music and on our supremely talented roster of artists, including Trin-i-tee 5:7, Brian Courtney Wilson, Juanita Bynum, Micah Stampley, Vanessa Bell Armstrong, Pastor Rudy and others. Business is business and family is family. I love my daughter and am very proud of who she is and all that she has achieved. I look forward to her continued great success. March 29, 201114 yr Usually I don't care when artists part with their management but Destiny's Child and Beyonce were/are SO huge and seem to take risks and always make the right decisions, and that has to be down to Mathew at least partially. I hope his departure doesn't mean her career's going to go a bit awry!

I hope his departure doesn't mean her career's going to go a bit awry! He's taken a major back seat with her since B'Day though. He wasn't even aware that she was recording the album! I think she'll be fine. She has such a major input into her career, I doubt it will nosedive.

April 12, 201114 yr Does anyone else get the feeling that Mathew wasn't particularly keen on her new direction? He definitely seems like someone who would rather she went down a safer route and her new record sounds a lot more riskier than her usual output.

He definitely seems like someone who would rather she went down a safer route and her new record sounds a lot more riskier than her usual output. I got that feeling too. It's like he wants her to stick with R&B only (which is what he's focusing his label on now) but she wants to branch out into different genres and really take risks.
