MARIAH CAREY is grateful she got the chance to reconnect with her estranged father before he died because she learned to love him all over again.

 

The sexy singer's parents divorced when she was a child and she grew up knowing little about her African-American father and his family.

 

But Mariah decided to swallow her pride and track him down a few years ago - and is relieved she did.

 

She said: "When you grow up with one parent, you get one side of the story. I'm not saying there was a deliberate thing that happened, but that's just the way it is.

 

"I was fortunate to find out things I never knew about my father. For one thing, I never knew he was in touch with my music and my career.

 

"He wrote me a letter saying: 'It doesn't matter whatever is happening, you've always been a star to me, even before anybody knew who you were.' It meant so much to me... I never knew he was sentimental."

 

She added: "I was grateful to be able to spend time with him before he got sick. It was unfortunate that I lost him so soon after, but I was grateful for the time I was able to spend with him."

 

This is quite a sensitive article considering it's from The Sun.

Oh no the article is new. But the news is really old, Mariahs father died before Mariah even did Charmbracelet, so the story is quite old now. ;)

I always have wondered about Mariah, she used to look so white compared to now, people have always said she was white trying to look "black" but I don't believe it :/

I hear it's how Beyonce kept Destiny's Child so thin. The others could only eat on a Sunday when Beyonce went out to church. When she caught Kelly orally hoovering a bag of liquorice allsorts, and Kelly barely survived the subsequent beating, it was time for the band to call it a day. :(

She looks a bit sweaty there too. It's very unusual to see her looking bad, especially in public.

 

When I saw her she was dolled up - there were lots of lingering close-ups to show just how pretty she looked.

Yep, she's looking tired too, a gruelling schedule since her comeback :(
