Looking at AKOE and the rehearsals of Semi 2, Israel (I agree) are being tipped to fail, along with both of Estonia and Sweden - surely not? :o

Although I've always thought that the bookies have been vastly overrating Estonia, surely it can get lower top ten in the final?

Estonia couldn't possibly fail? :o Please don't let Estonia be Norway V2. :(

Sweden I've been unsure about, I think it'll qualify but I don't think it'll set the scoreboard alight...

I wouldn't be surprised if Estonia or Sweden fail to qualify. From all accounts, the vocals on both have been average. Everybody thinks Ireland will qualify now (and rehearsals have been quite good), but perhaps this could be the shock failure?

I don't think Estonia will fail, although I don't think it will smash the scoreboard either judging by the sound of things. Sweden are more likely to go out in the semis I expect...I hope they both make it though!

Word is, Austria have been putting in the one of the best rehearsals and in all of the two weeks, she's yet to put in a less than sensational vocal :D I'd sort of kept my hopes for it qualifying fairly low over the past few weeks, even though it's my favourite entry this year, UK aside. But I have very high hopes for it to qualify now, based on her rehearsals and the results of last night's semi. Could even come top five in her semi :o

Austria MUST qualify, but I think it needs to have a late slot on Saturday to stand any chance.

As for Sweden qualifying, I have no worries, AKOE have been nothing but negative on everything Eric has done so I'm not taking their opinion on it at all seriously.

Interesting points back from the jury rehearsal, where half of the points will come from (courtest of ESC Today);

-> France got the biggest applause from the audience, Lena aside obviously

-> Serbia were 'screechy and a little out of tune'

-> Azerbaijan were vocally very good and stronger than usual, receiving 'strong - if not rapturous - applause'

-> Blue were better than this afternoon although Lee's notes not as strong as they could be. No report on the post-performance reception but it does say 'There is lots of anticipation in the hall for the performance from Blue' which is fairly expected I suppose as they're the most well known act there

-> Russia were quite weak vocally and had problems with the LED panels

-> Greece were 'faultless'

-> Sweden's glass breaks but not on cue (for christ sake Germany, sort it out! It did it every time in MF - all of the panels too, not just the one!)

-> Jedward get a good arena reaction, the backing vocalists do most of the work...

Nothing else of note to be honest, only Serbia and Russia were mentioned for alarmingly weak vocals, and Lee :lol: Hopefully somebody will upload it to Youtube so we can see it, but I sort of wish that those high range vocals weren't in the song at all if he can't reach them very easily :drama:

Okay...

ESCNation have been reporting on the same jury final - are predicting this top five; Estonia, Azerbaijan, Ireland, Slovenia, France said that Serbia's vocals were 'superb' and for Blue: 'Oy vey. What a mess. How I love this song and how it pains me to see the colossal clusterfu** they made of this. Nothing works here, really nothing. Grrrr.'

Really not a good comment at all for Blue there considering that this is where half of their votes are coming from, hopefully it's just his opinion and not one shared by the juries. I mean two people watching the same Serbian performance have called it vocally 'superb' and 'screechy and out of tune' - I think people are letting their own opinions seep in and failing to remain objective, which is pretty impossible I know, but I won't take anything as gospel. Especially not after AKOE's ridiculous hating on Lena last year, with her 'awful cockney vocals' meaning that she was apparently never in contention for the top ten let alone the win!

I would not agree on that... I've been there, and although he got some good applause after the performance, it was rather cautious in the recap...

Biggest applause in the recap went to Jedward, Finland, Hungary :blink: , Sweden, Moldova, UK, Austria, Iceland.

Keith Mills (AKOE) is predicting 16th-20th for the UK. Hopefully this is one of his dreadfully wrong predictions as that would be one of the most unjust results I've ever seen.

He's predicting 1st to 5th for Austria though and if that were somehow to happen, I guess the sting would be removed a bit...

Oh actually - reading further down, Spain 1st to 5th - didn't he say the same thing about last year's Spanish entry - which couldn't get higher than 15th despite TWO performances :lol: He's actually insane isn't he? Why on earth would all of the contemporary strong songs finish bottom half and the weak dated songs finish in the top five? Objectivity dead.

From the years I've been following the blog, he seems to think the contest should be renamed the Eurovision Best Vocal Contest, but we have the X Factor and such like for that, and I've always thought that people put far too much stock into an average vocal destroying the chances of a song. Would anyone really be happy if the only people that turned in perfect vocals tonight were Lithuania, Spain, Italy, Greece and Moldova, and as a result they all finished top five as a reward? :lol:

God, Keith Mills really IS an UNMITIGATED THUNDERCUNT :manson: SPAIN? REALLY? I don't think I've ever seen such delusion, and I've read a PAVEL PREDICTION.

I only hope that Eric Saade takes down Jedward in a LOCK OF DEATH to punch the bitter old queen into submission.

I console myself with the fact that this was his top five prediction for last year, predicted a few hours before the final;

Greece

Armenia

Belgium

Turkey

Spain (:rofl: - what are they paying him year in year out)

ONE of the top five correct, well done - most of us on this forum got four!

But yes, the UK could send Adele with the greatest song ever and still we'd be lock on for bottom ten :lol:
