This album was so overlooked. I picked it up at my local music zone for £1.99 this week and it's orgasmicly great :wub: . Nearly ever track is single worthy. Very 80's influenced pop/dance and simmilar to Dannii Minogues "Neon Nights" album. What went wrong for miss Valance? She had a number 1 single and hit album under her belt so why did this superior album perform so badly?

Her first album was called "Footprints"

Holly made an unflattering comparison between UK & Aussie males - that helped kill her career even though the "State of Mind" single & video were great.

Her album charted at 60 just because she stated she prefures aussie men? lol That's mental. It's such a killer album

She had more than one album :o i thought she had one :o i thought state of mind was part of the first album.. and the public turned against her due to this court battle thing.. it was all over the papers but i can't remember what it actually was about :lol:

tbh, she was never that good, the markets flooded with wannabe pop princesses and most just havnt got a very long shelf life. she is no exception.

her second album is far better than her first. So surprised "State of Mind" was not a big hit. And the second single that was ment to come out "Desire" was just as good

Just to remember the good old times, think this song is brilliant

I've heard the album before and tbh I wasn't too keen, although 'Desire' and 'Everything I Hate' were great. :D

OMFG :o I heard Down Boy at work today and have been thinking oh her (music :P) all day! State of Mind is a FANTASTIC album! I've also got two fabby bonus tracks :dance:

 

Was the first album any good? Must buy! Such a shame she was dropped, I love Everything I Hate :wub:

 

She apparently lost and career here as she slated British people (not just the men) - can't remember what she said though...

my girlfriend bough this album for e4 a few weeks ago,its not a bad album and o be fair it deserved more success,i hated her first song kiss kiss though

I hated Holly but "State Of Mind" is one of the best electro pop albums I have ever heard.

'Footprints' was hot. I specially liekd some of the toned down trracks on there - I saw the 'Kiss Kiss' video the other day and I felt sick that I ever liked the same specially after seeing the video again the dirty skank.

'State Of Mind' was even better but yeh it flopped terribly just like Rachel Stevens last year - the UK public are weird sometimes.

i love state of mind but she just didnt grab anyone, she was just regarded as another through away pop act i.e rachael stevens sadly

Kiss Kiss was #1, Down Boy #2, Footprints #8, Naughty Girl #15 (?), State Of Mind (single) #8, State Of Mind (album) #60 :(

 

It was all going so well until the second album. :cry:
