Hey Ghosty :D

04 (06) Oh Land ~ Sun Of A Gun ~ 9 [12-8-9-13-18-15-12-6-4] I heard this out last night, was fairly strange

14 (24) Maja Keuc ~ No One/Vanilija ~ 2 [24-14] I took no notice of this at all before downloading the compilation but it's fantastic! Shame on me!

27 (**) Getter Jaani ~ Rockefeller Street ~ 1 [27] Late entry for this! I guess the compilation helped? It's still a 'very good' for me, but there's something stopping it from being an absolute favourite of mine, not sure what.

29 (27) Jedward ~ Lipstick ~ 8 [20-22-27-29-27-29-27-29] I was surprised to see the CD single of this in HMV earlier :o Not every Irish ESC entry that gets a pre-contest (or post contest!) UK release!

51 (**) Cee-Lo Green feat. Wiz Khalifa ~ Bright Lights, Bigger City ~ 1 [51] Better than It's OK, and I really like the production on this but more could have been made of the melody

55 (**) Valanto Tryfonos ~ The Time Is Now ~ 1 [55] I got over this after a few weeks but it still would have been 100x better an entry than Watch My Dance

59 (**) Emma's Imagination ~ Brighter Greener ~ 1 [59] Not a good choice of single imo :(

Hi Martin, Kati Wolf in the top 3! Bit dissapointed with the fact there is no Hungarian version of this song in your chart :nono:  Some great ESC entries in your top ten  Panic! At The Disco climbing! :w00t: Big fall for HURTS :( 'Vanilija' is a way better than 'No One' - is there even any song sung in the native language in the ESC anymore? :drama:

Great chart!

Hi Martin

Thanks for posting :D

I can tell you're absolutely loving the WT album from how many tracks are in your chart  . I thought it was solid, but lacked standout tracks. I should give it another listen.

Hey Ghosty :D

Thanks Rich :D

04 - Really? :o How strange! It could be a hit here if it was given a big push.

14 - It is really good, very similar to Christina, but Maja needs to make her vocals sound a lot clearer. Certainly the best Slovenian entry since 2007, and definitely a return to form after last year.

27 - Yeah, the compilation definitely helped it. I feel the same, I think it might be the slightly lacklustre chorus. That said, I am predicting an Estonian win this year, I think the crowd will love it and quirky uptempo songs that the crowd take to tend to do well (based on the last two years anyway :kink: ).

29 - I got it off the HMV website a few weeks back - don't judge me! :drama: . I thought it might get a release here considering their existing fanbase. I think it's the first Irish physical release here since Brian Kennedy, and that was extremely low key.

51 - It is pretty good, and I also like the fact it sounds a little different to the last two singles. It won't go any further in my chart though.

55 - It's been waiting to chart for ages, but kept missing out each week. A nice ballad that would probably be in my top 20 of this year's entries, and I agree it would have been a far better choice than Watch My Dance.

59 - Not at all :( . I still really like Drive!

Thanks Luke :D

I do like the Hungarian version of Kati's song, but not enough for it to make my chart. I was pleasantly surprised at how good the new Panic! album was actually! I agree that Vanilija is much better than No One, it sounds a lot more dramatic. It's such a shame native languages aren't more prominant in ESC :(

Yeah, I haven't had as much time either :drama:

Hi Martin :D Not commented on your chart for ages it seems. :o Let's see what's going on here... ^_^

03 (04) Kati Wolf ~ What About My Dreams ~ 4 [16-7-4-3]

I need to update my Eurovision ranking of the tracks. This was definitely a highlight amongst many lowlights. Still one of my faves - I can see this becoming your 'Je Ne Sais Quoi' of 2011 - possibly. :P

05 (03) Eric Saade ~ Popular ~ 7 [16-12-5-3-3-3-5]

This has already started to get slightly tiresome despite me placing it third in my first Eurovision rank. It's still safely inside my overall top 20 though.

09 (07) Lena ~ Taken By A Stranger ~ 8 [5-3-1-3-4-6-7-9]

This track is really spooky in a bizarre way but yet I can't help but feel Germany might've got carried away with the Lena Euphoria she created 12 months ago.

16 (17) Patrick Wolf ~ The City ~ 3 [19-17-16]

Peaked at #14 for me but has slipped out of my top 20. Could return to the upper half of my chart - the songs I'm charting high at the moment are big faves and there's a distinct lack of great new releases (imo) coming up.

19 (15) Adele ~ Someone Like You ~ 7 [42-20-16-37-17-15-19]

Without doubt one of my tracks of 2011 although 'Rolling In The Deep' is still excellent - both tracks just haven't got boring for me. Plus '21' is an excellent album and its massive success really is deserved.

21 (**) Daria ~ Celebrate ~ 1 [21]

Another of my Eurovision highlights. Not quite as strong as Kati Wolf's track but still great.

23 (22) Blue ~ I Can ~ 4 [24-25-22-23]

What a contrast between your chart and GD's. :D Have to admit, I wasn't exactly a Blue fan. Their only great track, imo, being 'All Rise' with all their other singles on various levels of "ok" or "rubbish". So it's quite interesting that Blue have come back with a new single that's better, imo, than most of their 2002-2004 material.

27 (**) Getter Jaani ~ Rockefeller Street ~ 1 [27]

Definitely a grower. I'm gobsmacked though that this is one of the bookies' faves to win Eurovision. It certainly doesn't sound like a winning entry. Then again, neither did 'Molitva' and 'Believe' so what do I know? :D

34 (46) Britney Spears ~ Till The World Ends ~ 3 [46-46-34]

Nowhere near as good as 'Hold It Against Me' and there's something about Britney's vocals in this song that grates on me somewhat. Especially the chorus when she sings "Come on get me get me on the floor" where her vocals suddenly sound slightly heliumised. That aside, it's not that bad.

37 (**) Paradise Oskar ~ Da Da Dam ~ 1 [37]

Another song that is starting to grate. First time I heard this it was a proper "wth  " moment. Then attempting to listen to the song whilst keeping a straight face (ie; trying not to laugh) I thought maybe it's not that bad. Now I'm starting to revert back to what I thought originally.

38 (**) Milk & Sugar ~ Hey, Nah Nah Nah ~ 1 [38]

Love this.  In fact, why isn't there a dancing "wub" smilie? :( I'd probably overuse it though so don't add one.

39 (**) Ell & Nikki ~ Running Scared ~ 1 [39]

One of the tracks that has really grown on me. Liked it on first listen rather than loved it. However, I like this more now than I did 3 weeks ago. Such a shame they're called Ell & Nikki (just sounds so lame  ).

50 (38) Natalia Kills ~ Mirrors ~ 4 [23-30-38-50]

This is quite the grower. I hadn't charted this but I think it was given a UK release a couple of weeks back but it did absolutely nothing. Could end up making my chart soon.

51 (**) Cee-Lo Green feat. Wiz Khalifa ~ Bright Lights, Bigger City ~ 1 [51]

A much better single than 'It's Ok' (which was still good) but I doubt Cee Lo Green will match the excellent 'Forget You!'.

54 (**) Katy B ~ Broken Record ~ 1 [54]

Just leapfrogs 'Lights On' to become my fave Katy B single to date. Enters at #8 in my chart this week and could remain top 10 for a second week.

Thanks Hits :D .

03 - It's pretty likely to. It's the only entry this year that sounds vaguely like it. Sadly, I'm not overly keen on Kati's voice, it's a little deep and booming.

05 - I can see why. I am not liking the lyrics much at all, but the music is brilliant!

09 - I love it, but I think it's a bit too subtle to do much at Eurovision.

16 - It's quite a nice song, very summery. He has done far better songs in the past though.

19 - It's certainly an emotional track, but I'm not loving it as much as most people seem to. 21 was a pretty good album I agree.

21 - Same, but her vocals are pretty awful. I think this will struggle to make the Eurovision final.

23 - Contrary to it's chart position, I am really impressed with this track. At last, we have a realistic chance of winning!

27 - To me, it does sound like a winner. If the crowd get behind it, it'll translate very well on screen.

34 - I rather like it, but yes it isn't as good as Hold It Against Me.

37 - It's quite nice, could come top 10 in the final, but the lyrics are a little childish.

38 -, I really like it too, rather surprised it didn't do very well here!

39 - It's got a good chance, as it's rather nice and it is Azerbaijan :kink: . It's my favourite entry from that country to date.

50 - Initially, I really liked it, but now I've become rather bored of it :(

51 - Agreed there.

54 - It's the only song of hers that I've liked, and even then it'll probably only last a week on my chart.

4. Like I seem to say every week, I agree - but it doesn't seem terribly likely that it will be :( The Radio 1 playlist gets less and less interesting as each week passes :drama:

14. Indeed, my favourite Slovenian entry to date possibly!

27. Yeah I agree. Hmm...I'm still not sure about that Estonian win, it just seems TOO much like they're trying to pull a Satellite with a teenage girl singing a quirky pop song. Lightning doesn't usually strike twice, but I'd be shocked if it didn't finish in the top ten, I'm saying about 3rd-5th for it right now.

29. Tragic! I don't even recall seeing the Brian Kennedy single out here :o

59. I like the majority of the album more than this - this is probably the song I'd have least expected her to release

04 -, it does! To be fair though, there isn't exactly a great deal happening in the music world at the moment :( . I don't remember being this bored with music this time last year, or in 2009

14 - Energy is still mine. Infact No One is pretty low down my list, as I have loved numerous past Slovenian entries. My ranking of their entries since 1999:

01. Nuša Derenda - Energy

02. Alenka Gotar - Cvet Z Juga

03. Anzej Dezan - Mr Nobody

04. Sestre - Samo Ljubezen

05. Omar Naber - Stop

06. Maja Keuc - No One

07. Karmen Stavec - Nanana

08. Rebeka Dremelj - Vrag Naj Vzame

09. Quartissimo - Love Symphony

10. Darja Švajger - For A Thousand Years

11. Ansambel Žlindra and Kalamari - Narodnozabavni Rock

12. Platin - Stay Forever

I only disliked Platin's, and I love all of the top 8. I expect Maja will climb once it fully grows on me.

27 - I can see your point, and agree with it to an extent, but if the crowd give it a roar similar to that of when Satellite came on, then Estonia will do very well. I can't wait for this year's results, as there is no clear winner by a long shot!

29 - . Brian's single was available on the HMV website, as was Donna & Joe's, but whether they ever got them in is another thing.

59 - Agreed, there are a lot of better options.

4. I know what you mean, I don't think Eurovision/NF songs have ever dominated my chart quite as they are at the moment. There's just absolutely nothing around in terms of chart music!

14. I only liked Love Symphony, Vrag Naj Vzame, Energy, and naturally (seeing as our opinions are always completely opposite) Stay Forever, which actually peaked at #3 in my chart  I know it's essentially tacky crap with a sickly sentiment behind it but I couldn't get enough of it!

27. I'd agree with that. Although for the second year in a row, Lena should get the biggest cheer  We say that now, but imagine if something like Norway or France run away with it and everyone's like 'oh it was obvious in hindsight wasn't it'. I do hope it's closer than usual this year and that we don't have one song running off with it - unless it's Blue :kink:

04 - Eurovision does tend to dominate my chart at this time of the year, but the poor quality of Eurovision entries has meant that the NF tracks are lingering around a lot longer than normal.

14 - You didn't like Alenka? :o . I think my dislike for Platin was down to my age, it was all about the hi-energy numbers in 2004 for me, apart from Serbia which I also loved.

27 - Probably, although the home crowd cheer is always massive! I played Norway to a friend the other day, and she was pretty adament it would win. When I first heard it I thought "That's the winner", so maybe we will be returning to Oslo next year :o . I really can't see France doing it, especially considering it's draw next to Italy.

4. I know what you mean, but I actually think that the quality of the ESC entries in general are WAY higher than last year for me personally

14. Not overmuch, it was ok but I think Malena and Amaury have done the genre a lot better personally. I guess I was 16/17 at the time of Platin and I found it very catchy. That year is probably the year where ESC dominated my chart the most - which was more down to the DIRE quality of UK chart music in 2004 than the fact that the contest was of a massively high standard. I had 7 or 8 ESC songs in my top ten the week of the final.

27. Indeed, but surely bigger for Lena seeing as it's the home entry + she won it for them personally! I definitely still see winning potential in Norway, I'm surprised the bookies have dropped it quite so far down, it could definitely win over televoters and juries alike. I still can't call France at all.

04 - At the moment, I'm still preferring last year's entries overall to this year's. I haven't got an overwhelming favourite this year either which is very unusual. Every year there's a song that if it doesn't make the final, I'd be devastated, but even if Hungary missed out this year which is actually quite likely, I wouldn't be hugely bothered.

14 - Malena was great, but I am a massive fan of Balkan turbofolk, and Alenka's song mixed opera with that genre perfectly! 2004's contest didn't have a huge effect on my chart, as I was going through a phase of loving metal music, and 2004 was really superb for that genre.

27 - I guess so. I am tempted to put a bet on Norway actually. I might wait and see if it qualifies/where it gets drawn in the final though.

4. That's a shame to hear :( UK and Austria are my two clear favourites and we know that the UK are in the final regardless, and I've already made my peace with Austria probably missing out, or scraping in by a whisker if they're very lucky. But neither of those songs I like as much as Satellite. However, I do like all of my other top five favourites more than my other top five favourites from last year. Satellite was the only ESC entry to make my EOY top 20 last year but this year I reckon 3 will make it at least.

14. I'm not at all a fan of that genre I don't think  2004 was dire for me in the first few months, I can't even remember what I was charting aside from Eurovision. Luckily after April The Corrs returned and tided me over until Delta's return in November!

27. I might consider putting an each way bet on them - I did very well last year with my each way bets on Romania and Turkey!

Hey my faves
