Posted April 7, 201114 yr Clint Boon has confirmed that John Squire and Ian Brown have met up. http://www.nme.com/news/the-stone-roses/55974
April 7, 201114 yr Okay, well, all we need now is Reni and Mani and then we can talk about a "reunion" mate.....
April 7, 201114 yr Mani is the bass player of Primal Scream since 1996. Right now Primal Scream are touring so I don't think we'll see The Stone Roses reunion too soon. Edited April 7, 201114 yr by alin

Hmm, so, basically it's a bit of a long punt at the moment, thought so... I dunno, I mean, Ian Brown and John Squire have a pint in the pub together, Clint from Inspiral Carpets starts spurting rumours and all of a sudden NME reports it as a "possible reunion"...
April 7, 201114 yr Breaking news: Mani: "Please f*** off and leave it alone" Mani quashes Stone Roses reunion rumours http://www.nme.com/news/the-stone-roses/55977

April 7, 201114 yr I saw this very shortly on a The Sun page while someone is reading, I think? Edited April 7, 201114 yr by FM11
April 7, 201114 yr Shame, a reunion would have been good. Oh well. More chance than the Smiths at least
April 8, 201114 yr The NME should really know better than jumping on this one. I expect this kind of rubbish from The Sun but not them. Burying the hatchet is a long, long way from setting up a reunion and I think the only reason any of them would do it is if they really, really needed the money. What annoyed me was that The Stone Roses began trending on Twitter yesterday morning with loads of people taken in by yet another false story in The Scum from that arse Gordon Smart who seems to spend his entire life annoying old indie stars. As for Clint Boon's quotes, he hopes for a reunion as a fan, but at no point did he say much other than that. I'm getting a little sick of these fake stories.

But this doesn't excuse the NME from not bothering to properly source it before running with it.... I can kind of remember the day when NME journalists would actually check sources, and had some credibility....
April 10, 201114 yr You and me both.... But this doesn't excuse the NME from not bothering to properly source it before running with it.... I can kind of remember the day when NME journalists would actually check sources, and had some credibility.... Ohhh I remember the last time I read NME... Absolutely appalling magazine!!
April 10, 201114 yr NME want to sell copies and think little of integrity. Sensationalism is the way to go.
April 11, 201114 yr NME want to sell copies and think little of integrity. Sensationalism is the way to go. And yet their circulation's been steadily dropping since they got rid of their decent journalists.... http://entertainment.timesonline.co.uk/tol...icle3497298.ece http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/2009/aug/1...gazine-abcs-nme "Circulation of the magazine has fallen continuously since 2003. In the first half of 2010, the magazine's circulation was 33,875, 53% down on a 2003 figure of 72,442" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NME
April 12, 201114 yr Conor McNicholas became editor in 2002 and tried to turn it into some kind of indie Heat magazine. In his seven years in the job he completely destroyed it. I see he lasted less than a year as editor of BBC Top Gear magazine too. The guy is useless.
