22 - , it really is saying something when the best thing they've sent to the contest is Ninanajna. I think they're in a similar situation to the UK now - no major act wants to touch Eurovision with a bargepole :( . I want her to go through too. My ideal qualifiers from SF 2:

Slovenia

Sweden

Estonia

Ireland

Bosnia & Herzegovina

Israel

Austria

Slovakia

Netherlands

Belarus

But at least three of those are out straight away to make room for Denmark, Romania and Ukraine :drama: .

22. Indeed. Not that I didn't enjoy that song (it peaked at #8 in my chart) but it was hardly revolutionary. I like Denmark and want them to go through (which they will) and indeed Romania and Ukraine will definitely make it. I'm guessing at the expense of any of Ireland, Austria, Slovakia, Netherlands and Belarus. The only certainties for me are Sweden, Estonia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Denmark, Romania and Ukraine. I guess Israel too because its Dana but if the song was by anyone else I really don't think it would stand a chance personally.

Sweden, Slovenia, Estonia, Bosnia, Denmark, Romania, Ukraine and Israel are the definites for me. Austria, Ireland, Netherlands, Belarus and Latvia will battle it out for the final two spots, but I think it's more likely to be Ireland and one of Austria/Latvia.

Which is a real shame for The Netherlands as for me personally, it's their best, most accomplished entry in years. And WHY must Ukraine always take away a spot from somebody. Angel is beyond boring :( I know its inevitable but I'd love to see them DNQ this year.

Totally agree, but if Lovebugs can't get anywhere far then I can't see 3JS doing much better, unless the juries go mad for it. Ukraine do annoy me greatly always qualifying, and this year will be their least deserved qualification to date. If Angel was the Slovakian entry then it would surely be in the bottom 3, if not last.

I agree sadly. The Highest Heights was brilliant, a #1 in my chart no less :o It failing to qualify was the only thing that I didn't like about the 2009 contest in fact. I completely agree with everything there, I know neighbourly/diaspora voting doesn't effect the winner but it certainly effects the qualifiers, and it's very annoying as it prevents the finals from being as high quality as they potentially could be. Bizarrely though, the juries are just as bad. Wasn't Sweet People actually pushed into the top ten in the final last year thanks to the juries :drama:

Switzerland should have made it through over Romania, and imo, Ireland or Slovakia should have qualified over Lithuania in 2009. I can't recall how the juries affected the results last year apart from the fact Finland and Sweden were displaced because of them :(

Indeed, the juries really screwed over a couple of deserving finalists last year :( I'm pleased that they're back, to try to dampen the effects of neighbourly voting a bit, but at the same time, they keep on aiding some really crap songs for no apparent reason
