Kelly Clarkson, Jason Aldean and Rihanna will perform on next week's American Idol results show.

 

The first-ever American Idol winner will take to the stage with Aldean to perform their track 'Don't You Wanna Stay', while it has not been confirmed what Rihanna will sing.

 

Clarkson - who recently admitted to developing a "crush" on season ten singer Casey Abrams - is not the first former contestant to return to the show this season. Adam Lambert performed on the first results show of season ten, while Lee DeWyze, Fantasia and Constantine Maroulis have all made appearances in recent weeks.

 

Season seven winner David Cook has also recorded this season's farewell song, a new version of 'Don't You (Forget About Me)', originally released by Simple Minds.

 

Other stars who have performed during results shows this season include will.i.am and Jamie Foxx, Iggy Pop, Black Eyed Peas and Diddy Dirty Money.

 

This week's American Idol saw the Top 9 contestants performing tracks from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, while will.i.am joined Jimmy Iovine to mentor the singers, and Gwen Stefani dressed the women in clothes from her L.A.M.B. fashion line.

 

The contestants' studio performances are now available as a compilation album or individual tracks on iTunes.

 

American Idol airs Wednesdays and Thursdays on Fox.

I fecking LOVE Don't You Wanna Stay :wub: Can't wait, I only listened to the song cos I noticed it on US iTunes a while ago and saw Kelly was on it, but I kinda like the Jason guy too now! It's been a number 1 on the country chart for her too :cheer:

She looked and sounded amazing last night :wub: She definitely has lost some weight but she looks good either way :D Its on tonight on ITV2 if anyone wants to catch it!

 

Oh and she trended last night on Twitter so its good to see that she's getting back out there into the spotlight :D
