December 6, 201113 yr Author Nope - here's the top 10, correct to 14 June 2009: 01. Queen - Greatest Hits - 5,678,610 02. The Beatles - Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band - 4,908,288 03. ABBA - ABBA Gold: Greatest Hits - 4,610,813 04. Oasis - (What's the Story) Morning Glory? - 4,421,505 05. Dire Straits - Brothers in Arms - 4,069,764 06. Pink Floyd - The Dark Side of the Moon - 3,956,177 07. Michael Jackson - Thriller - 3,825,857 08. Queen - Greatest Hits II - 3,746,404 09. Michael Jackson - Bad - 3,554,301 10. Madonna - The Immaculate Collection - 3,402,160 I know ABBA at least (and of course the two MJ albums) will have increased since, but I don't think the positions will've changed. December 7, 201113 yr Oh, I meant Madonna, no idea why I said Shania. Pink Floyd surely must have passed 4,000,000 at some point since then (its chart run from the re-release this year alone must have sold close to that 43.8k and I'm sure it's a pretty consistent seller otherwise) but I don't remember seeing that news anywhere. The Immaculate Collection has sold 200k+ since 14th June 2009? Edited December 7, 201113 yr by Bré
December 7, 201113 yr Author Perhaps not then! I assume the OCC will update its sales when '21' overtakes anyway.
December 26, 201113 yr Author I'm pretty sure '21' is now #1; using figures for Madonna from when this topic was initially posted! :D A huge congratulations to her - and it didn't even take a full year! (19 joined the top 20 as of last week.) Edited December 26, 201113 yr by THEO.
January 4, 201312 yr 21 was the biggest selling album in the US for 2012 for the second consecutive year. This is the first time that has happened since 1991, granted they dont appear to have access to that type of information prior to 1991. Either way, it is a great accomplishment.
