DLT was fun. No more. The meat and potatoes of 2007 was Russia and to a lesser extent Turkey.

I don't see anything in that Russian song at all. So dull and boring.

LIES. It does produce some really good songs too, that's what I'm in it for.

 

Verka is not one of those though, I enjoyed it at the time as a fun gimmick, but it really irritates me now when people use it as an example of 'typical eurovision'. It's only typical because it's what people focus on.

Song #1 doesn't really do much for me either, but it's better than Verka. 2007 in general was a really poor year in my opinion, I've only got about 3/4 songs on my iPod from it now, compared to about half of 2008/2009/2010.

I cant remember any actually good songs from Eurovision ever apart from Gina G and Verka :(

Because the BBC's negotiations for other bigger artists fell through as the BBC wanted to have a selection show with telephone voting to get some profit. None of the artists agreed to it as they wanted to be chosen directly, so the BBC sent out a message calling for anyone who wanted to do it for free, and we pretty much got what we deserved.

I LOVE Pete Waterman :wub: It's just it was a crap song and 10 years out of date, and Josh was a bland jazz singer. If they had any sense they should have re-arranged it like a Michael Buble song and then we wouldn't have come bottom 5.

Molitva was a beautiful power ballad.

 

imo none deserved to win, but out of three the lesser evil was Molitva.

The song itself isn't a total write off, it's not really much more than a decent album track, but Josh has all the presence of a turnip and his voice, while strong, wasn't suited at all to the song.

I also like the Ukraine one where they put in Xena the warrior princess :wub:
