Posted April 19, 201114 yr She's working on the second album atm, she has said that she wants to make the second album closer to 'Animal' (the track) and seeing the growth from Animal to Cannibal have no doubt that she will be making more hits with the new era. Having said that she has said that the album could end up 'spoken word record or polka death metal' which i doubt. Of course, expect more tracks produced by Dr. Luke http://a2.twimg.com/profile_images/1317630025/K__Dr.Luke10_2_10EDIT-12.jpg She's jokingly called the new album 'Spandex on the Distant Horizon'.
April 19, 201114 yr I loved 'Animal' but it was very hit and miss. The title track was FANTASTIC, and Take It Off/Your Love Is My Drug/TiK ToK/Kiss And Tell/Dancing With Tears In My Eyes/Blind/Hungober were pretty good but Boots And Boys/Dinosaur/Blah Blah Blah/Stephen/VIP were dreadful. We R Who We R is a great track but Blow doesn't go anywhere and will probably get really stale when the next single is out (if there is one). And she needs to release a ballad. Animal/Cannibal hasn't even sold 200K yet and that's with TiK ToK selling 700K and the other three singles going top 15, plus WRWWR being a #1.

'Dancing With Tear In My Eyes' would have done very well and would have given her a new audience as she would come across a bit more serious than now. Edited April 19, 201114 yr by Frank!
April 19, 201114 yr 'Animal' was rather good in places but then again, not so good in others. The songs like 'Party At A Rich Dudes House', 'Boots & Boys', 'Dinosaur' & most of the singles (apart from YLIMD & TIO) were just painful, and the reason I am not a huge Kesha fan, but then again, if she is cabable of songs of 'Hungover', 'Dancing With Tears In My Eyes' and 'Animal' standard, then I dont see why she has to produce such $h!t aswell. I am glad this says the 2nd album is going down the 'Animal' route as that type of stuff suits her the best, along with the 'Kiss N' Tell', 'YLIMD' type songs but if she changes her mind and goes down the 'Cannibal' route instead, I don't think I could even cope with giving it a listen if I am honest. April 19, 201114 yr Author Cannibal was a massive improvement from Animal for me tbh. I loved the EP and it showed growth from some of the bubblegum tracks on 'Animal'. I don't want too much of a departure from the first album as that album makes every Ke$ha gig worth going to.
April 19, 201114 yr I think Animal was quite a consistant album, not any songs I don't still like - unlike Cannibal which got old quick.
April 20, 201114 yr Really looking forward to this ... hope she shows some progression though, I think it's mainly why 'Blow' is flopping in the UK. She needs to show a different side to her - doesn't necessarily need to be a ballad as such, but it needs to be slightly different imo. I'm sure I'll love it either way. I seriously love every single she's released so far and I think she's a far better popstar than GaGa.
April 20, 201114 yr Animal was very hit and miss but she released four great singles. For me, she cocked it up by doing Caninbal which is one of the worst EP's i have ever heard. Her music has become increasingly worse. I hope she sorts herself by Album 2.
April 23, 201114 yr I hope she has more songs like Cannibal, Harold Song, Blind and Hungover to show another side. Much as I love Tik Tik and Blow (two of my fave Ke$ha songs), all of the party anthems about being drunk aren't going to get her to the wider audience she needs to reach!
April 28, 201114 yr Author The Pop Word is a column about the pop world. Sooo, did you know that Ke$ha’s ex-boyfriend is in Cheap Time? I did not. If you’re next question is “Who the f*** is Cheap Time?” you are forgiven. They’re one of those lo-fi bands in a sea of lo-fi bands that recently cropped up over the last few years. Maybe not a band that’s going to knock your socks off with originality, but decidedly cooler than Ke$ha’s bad girl brand of pop music, that’s for sure. Anyway… the Black Lips have a new song called “Mad Dog”, which is about playing records backwards, a tribute to the era in which bands used this method to implant subliminal messages. Well, the Black Lips chose a Ke$ha song for their experiment, singing one of her songs forwards but it plays backwards. Mad Dog backwards is God Dam. They said she liked it but was also a little weirded out by it. Singer/guitarist Cole Alexander told Spinner: “She wants us to do a punk rock song with her—she likes punk rock. So we’re working on that.” Lead guitarist Ian St. Pe said, “She’s come to our shows. Actually, her ex-boyfriend’s band, we used to play with all the time, Cheap Time. She used to hang out with normal people like us—getting to the top, it’s lonely but it’s got a killer view.” Seriously? This kind of thing should happen way more often than it does… actually, has it ever happened where a pop star and an indie/punk band have collaborated?
May 16, 201114 yr Author Ke$ha's already got the face paint down pat, and, during recent live sets, she's even taken to guzzling blood out of a human heart, so it should come as no surprise that, on her upcoming album, the pop star is taking things back to the most theatrical era of rock: the prop-heavy, arena-spanning heyday of the 1970s. Ke$h revealed her plans over the weekend in Los Angeles, on the red carpet of KIIS FM's annual Wango Tango concert, where she told MTV News that the follow-up to her breakout Animal album (and, we suppose, Cannibal too) would be heavy on hard riffs and light on pretty much everything else. "The next album ... I've been working on writing on the road, but as far as a sound, I just know it's gonna be balls-out, irreverent rock and roll," she said. "I've been pretty much in this '70s rock and roll kick and I just want to capture some of the true essence of what rock and roll is, and that's just irreverence and sexiness and fun and not giving a f---, so we'll definitely put a bit of rock and roll in it." So, does that mean that fans can expect the likes of Alice Cooper or Peter Frampton to show up on her new album? Perhaps. Because while Ke$ha's new album is still a ways off, she's already begun calling in favors, hoping to line up a killer collabo for the new disc. "I'm trying, trust me," she laughed. "I really would love to connect with one of my idols, I mean, that's my dream. I'm working on it." MTV
