Right. Week 2 of my personal chart.

This week, after 4 weeks of ruling my charts, Gorillaz fall, to be replaced, by, of all people, Kesha. I have complained about Kesha in the past, for making party songs that sound all the same, most recently for getting number 1, while my Wombats had to settle for number 35 in the same week :(. Yes, a little bit unrealistic, but I do remember complaining about that.

However, Blow has changed my mind. Epic song. Take That also move up to 2, Avril's older offering My Happy Ending moves up to 4 and Adele completes the top 5 with Set Fire To The Rain. The final new entry to the top 10 this week is LMFAO. Now that is how you do a party song.

Lower down, in anticipation of them impacting the charts (hopefully), Hush Hush and Alligator Sky move within spitting distance of the top 10, followed by the ending track on Rihanna's A Girl Like Me.

Nicole and Kanye's current hits see a slight revival in my chart, while the highest of this week's new entries, Cee-Lo Green's Bright Lights Bigger City scrapes in behind them.

A similar situation happens a few places down with Broken Record and On The Floor, followed by a reentry. Brandon Flower's Jilted Lovers & Broken Hearts impacted the chart slightly back in March. Now it secures a new peak.

Two more new entries follow soon after, yet another album track from the cutie that is Alexis Jordan, and Natalis Kills' Mirrors.

Britney debuts on my chart with Till The World Ends at 36, and at 43, Basshunter's lead single from last year, Saturday enters.

The final two entries are from Nicki Minaj and The Hoosiers, towards the bottom, while at the bottom end of the chart, Tokyo (Vampires & Wolves) continues to be by far the longest running track in the chart.

Really nice chart, especially all the additions and climbs from Gorillaz - a band I feel are failing to make much impact chart wise nowadays; shown in how 'The Fall' fell from #4 to #9 on the UK Albums Chart in the course of a day.

 

Interesting for Ke$ha's 'Blow' to reach number-one, I enjoy the song a lot and have hopes that it'll go on to outpeak the likes of 'Take It Off' and 'Your Love Is My Drug' by lack of radio support leaves it a very unlikely thing to occur.

 

You say 'Week 2' in your title, yet the incredible 'Tokyo (Vampires & Wolves)' has managed 24 weeks - had you started a chart last year and have resumed it? Was just interested is all.

Re: The Fall, I thought that that was a bit suspect. It's quite low on iTunes, but it's been album of the week on Amazon, and it's got to be a big gap from #4 to #9, so I hope there's just some missing sales data or something and it gets a decent position on Sunday. As in in the top 5. But yes, I discovered Gorillaz last year with Doncamatic, and I just went from there, and got their albums, etc.

 

I hope Blow does better than it's doing at the moment too. After a #1 from WRWWR, I'd be surprised if this flopped too hard.

 

As for this appearing to be a chart with more history than 2 weeks, I had started this chart a few weeks back, the week that Rocketeer got to number 1. I call it week 2, as it's week 2 on here, and I don't have any idea when I actually started it. I backdated (a little bit inaccurately, but as close as I could) to the beginning of 2011. So that I have a points system for the end of the year. I'm fairly happy with it.

I also have worked out my number 1s for most of 2010, as I wasn't doing much music-wise back then, and pretty much any song I really liked did it for me. Wavin Flag and Waka Waka, as well as Spaceman by The Killers, as well as 2012 - Jay Sean, Higher - The Saturdays, Someone Wake Me Up - Joe McElderry, Happiness - Alexis Jordan and Radio - Alesha Dixon, as well as a few others, definitely got to number 1 at some point, as well as several others, who either only had one week or were too far back for me to mention.

 

Anyway, Tokyo spent pretty much the whole of October as number 1, and it managed to stay for a long time afterwards, being the only one of my number 1s pre-2011 still charting (Only just, Radio dropped out just before I started here), and I fabricated an approximate run for it for November - New Year 2011. If the others ever chart again, I may attempt to fabricate chart runs for them, or just say they were #1 in 2010, before starting their current run.
