I found this thread while looking up some info about the Only Fools theme tune, as I am trying to see whether John Sullivan singing it has ever been officially released digitally. As of this year, from what I can see, the only release of it was on CD as part of Only Fools and Horses - The Album, which is a crying shame. There are versions of the musical cast singing it on the usual services, alongside some pretty naff covers of both the opening and closing themes, but not the originals. :(

There was also a song released in 2004 that sampled both the opening theme and Hookie Street. It was called

, and was effectively a mash-up of England football songs with the music from Only Fools! It actually made the charts, hitting number 49.

(Sorry for bumping an old thread! I just thought that anyone who also stumbled upon this might also be interested in the Viva England! song)

The theme tune itself (from Series 2+ anyway) was sung by it's creator John Sullivan who passed away suddenly on Friday. I'm trying to find out about a rap-type track that heavily featured the theme tune and also featured in the video Marlene, Boycie and Mickey Pearce out clubbing (and with no disrespect intended to the three actors, looking conspicuosly old in a club full of teens). In my area the Oxford Channel used to show it on their nightly music show all the time. They also used to regularly show a song that went 'All the duck are swimming in the water lala lala la la" that I've never found elsewhere too.

I always thought Nicholas Lybdhurst sang it!
