I wish they did still do physical copies of singles, no matter who it is. I hate downloading with a passion, seeing as apple has just been playing up for me for the past 2 hours! stressed!

Im with you, i hate downloading aswell and i miss the phyisical cd singles and i always buy them when i have the opportunity.
You should have seen the look I got from someone in HMV when I asked her where the CD singles were!
Ya, that happened me a while back aswell, but they eventualy showed them to me after the shock wore off, it was a tiny stand in a tiny corner and ery easy to miss.

Only number 15 in the chart today (even though I don't think its that great - I honestly expected it to be at least top 5).

Ah well! It'll soon be Christmas!

Kath

Didnt expect top 5 today but had hoped top 10, prob wont go top 10 at all now.

I honestly thought it'd do better - even though it has only had the one promotional outing at the Movie Awards show. I suppose it hasn't helped that its had virtually no airplay and no video. The whole thing seems like a 'last minute' decision. I know that the song isn't that great (although much better than Kidz) but I thought their whole fan-base buying it (as its not on the album) would have seen it get enough sales to reach top 5. I guess not all the fans bought it even. Did you download it Pete?

Kath

No, i didnt download it, im waiting to see bout buying a phyisical, if definitly no phyisical i will download it then. YA the single does seem rushed but there single releases are sometimes very messy outside the lead single, the promo etc for kidz was just a mess, up all night was also the same, then happy now came along after kidz although not a single but they perform it while trying to promote kids, all messy and confusing which i think does hamper things a little.

Interesting to see how love love will perform next week, the album has climbed back into the top 30 though again this week so love love is getting the album a tiny bit of attention which is something.

I think 15 is pretty good for a song that just seemed to pop out of nowhere. I too hate downloading and I'm hoping for a physical release but I seriously doubt we'll get one now, it would just be pointless so long after the track's been available for download.

this is the reason why an act like Take That shouldn't partake in this on air on sale nonsense. It needs a couple of weeks radio play for it to grow on listeners and for people to be aware of it. Releasing it on a wednesday with no airplay is career suicide for any other act, and if Take That can't even break top 10 with a brand new (and pretty good) song then i dont know what to say..

And all this releasing the video after the song stupidity has too stop as well. Take That are not an act that sell a single consistently over weeks and weeks where a video released in week 5 of a 20 week run in the top 40 wouldn't matter. By the time they release the video there is a good chance that the song wont even be in the top 40 so what good is that then...absolutely pointless. I can see it dropping to 30 something next week and gone by week 3 altogether. I can't imagine why Robbie would want to sign with their record label, they seem like they don't know their head from their arse when it comes to promo.

You've described it well - a song that just seemed to pop out of nowhere. So I'd say - yes, this is a good chart position for a midweek release with absolutely no airplay and no video. I'm sure it hasn't even reached the general population's ears yet.

the problem of any new TT single right now is the sound. I really hope they'll go back to their pop sound. I think Love Love is OK but it's not really outstanding.

You do have a point. Apart from The Flood - every single release since it has sounded more or less the same.

Kath

Well kidz and love love are the only 2 singles since the flood and while they do sound the same they are quite different with love love been much better, happy now although a promo style single only was quite a different sound to kidz and love love.
Big drop from #15 to #39 last week and its not top 40 this week, i cant see love love doing much more unless it gains a few sales when progressed is released and the tour kicks off.

well the video will be released today in an hour (so 4pm) and its finally been placed on the radio 1 playlist and with the tour kicking off it might just start climbing again..
