I've been thinking that about the music too, they use so many songs that I'd actually listen to.

This has been surprisingly decent so far, both episodes have had good actors in for the single episode stories. Plus I'm not hating Robson Green for once.

The actor who played Martin Dunbar was very good. Has he been in anything else?

I wasn't too keen on Wednesday's episode yet posters on DS think it was the best of the series so far.

Grantley is fab. Best character!!! :cheer:

It almost seems to me like the pupils are trying to out do each other with their problems in every episode. In every episode there is a scene where someone says their problems to someone, and that person has a terrible problem too. I kind of enjoy this programme but I find it unrealistic at times.

The story lines only seem to last a week or 2 as well.

Most of the story lines are very rushed. They could have made far more of Finn's problem with coping with Sam's illness. Instead it was a minor part of one episode. That meant he was portrayed as a scumbag whereas spreading it over several episodes could have made more of what it must be like for a teenager whose girlfriend is dying.

Good news :cheer:

What I think is one of the worst things about this programme is how an episode lasts for the duration of a day - I think if they managed to make episodes last over the course of 2-3 days it'd be a lot more effective, instead of it literally being "registration > lesson 1 > lesson 2 > break...", you get the drift.

I was thinking that too. That and the rushed storylines (I'm surprised Sambuca didn't die after she collasped in episode 1 tbh ) are bringing the show down a bit. I love it though

Even some of the running threads are ridiculously fast. The last series was supposed to cover a term. In that time Ruby had read a a real novel for the first time, written her own novel, had it revised by Grantly, submitted it to a publisher and had it accepted with an advance for more books. All that while still having time to continue with her day job as a teacher.

I found Ruby's book ridiculous too - as if she can write a book in 2/3 months with no distraction, let alone with teaching etc. as well  They should have had her writing the book for a couple of series' tbh...

Oh, and I thought I'd post cast changes (in spoilers ofc) for those of who don't know and want to :):

Departing:

Holly Kenny (Sambuca)

Amanda Burton (Karen)

Robson Green (Rob)

Upcoming:

Jodie Prenger (Linda Wicks)

Paul Nicholls (Jez Diamond - new PE teacher)

Jaye Jacobs (Sian Diamond - new Science teacher)

Alec Newman (Michael Byrne - new head)

In the last episode, I was like "What happened to the girl who is a murder? And the girl who has cancer". I feel it happens ll the time on this programme. A storyline lasts for 1 week and is then forgotten about. The murder might not even show up again .

She was just a guest (thank god, I hated her in Hollyoaks :puke:), as she revealed her secret to Chris and Finn she had leave to go somewhere else under a new name (police protection). But yeah, all the storylines are rushed :(

Seriously guys put in spoilers: they're not hard to use

Don't really want to have to go around giving people warnings because they're too lazy to put in spoiler tags

I did for the cast changes, and what we were talking about happened an episode before the one that was out on Wednesday, so everyone who watches WR will have seen.
