I would have thought both versions of Band Aid would have been combined its actually the same song.

I'm completely ignoring this.

A one hit wonder is an artist has had only one hit in the complete chart Top50 (to May 1978) - Top 75 (to August 2008) and Top 100 since.

A TRUE one hit wonder is an artist that has had one NUMBER ONE hit in the complete chart (Top50 to May 1978 - Top 75 to August 2008 and Top 100 to present) and no other chart entry ever.

A list of all the TRUE one hit wonder can be seen HERE

Typical BBC only doing half the job.

but why deny the status of One Hit Wonder if it has sold more than other one hit wonders but only managed number 2 or 3 - like some of the songs in this chart?

Tiffany- I Think Were Alone Now not in the list :o

amazing song

I love the song too but Tiffany had three other Top 40 hits in the UK all of which went Top 20, her 2nd biggest hit behind "I Think We're Alone Now" was "Could've Been" which peaked at number four.

24. 99 Red Balloons - Nena 1984 625,000

25. Break My Stride - Matthew Wilder 1984 620,000

I find it really hard to believe that "Break My Stride" sold so much, it was only the 44th biggest hit of 1984 and "99 Red Balloons" was the 15th biggest. Anyone know how this could be?? Thanks.
