REALLY love this and i swear i've heard something like it before, so does anyone know what it samples? (if it is actually a sample and i'm not just going crazy)

 

I can't actually find a video of the version they play on R1 and it's the sung part in that that i recognise, but i'm guessing this is the official version, ft. Ian Brown off of the Stone Roses

 

I don't think it samples anything? Anyway this song is immense. The song of the summer quite literally I think.

 

The Ian Brown version is terrible. His vocals just do not suit the song at all imo. I'm pretty sure the instrumental is the song that's being played on the radio? Anyway, the full 6 minute original mix is just absolutely brilliant. Love Alex Metric.

 

I much prefer this version without Ian Brown. This is a really great song which deserves to do well in the chart, R1 support should get it top 40 at least. When it's released I think it'll be a big hit with me, you gotta love Steve Angello (one of the best DJ/producers around at the mo' and he is one third of SHM)

The 'and the lights go on, open your eyes' (guessing the lyrics there) part really reminds me of The Temper Trap i think, definitely sounds like their singer. Might be making up the sample though haha
