Its a perfectly good way of expressing how something is good, regardless of any additional factors.

so the phrase 'mothers day or not' to me seems perfectly acceptable, to indictate that the sales were in excess of the increase one would normally expect on mothers day. Other albums didnt sell nearly as well that week, so 'mothers day or not', to me, seems to indicate the situation extremely well.

Can you actually read? Because by Saying 'Mothers day or not', I was saying, WHATEVER bloody week it was, it would be huge, whether it be christmas, first week or mothers day.
