Posted May 9, 201114 yr Did anyone here about this? Apparently Belgovision is the source but I found about it here: http://www.esctodayforum.com/showthread.ph...g-from-ESC-2012 I'm not sure what to think about this, a bad entry can be selected from a national final just as easily (if not more) than an internal selection. Even though it's in the interest of giving the public choice.....not much good happens when you give the public choice. (At least not in Eurovision) What do you think about this if it actually happens? Edited May 9, 201114 yr by Sabrewulf
May 9, 201114 yr I don't know how I feel about this. If it DOES get enforced, the BBC need to make sure that there are 4 or 5 high quality songs on offer each year, and not the usual shower of mediocre crap and token novelty song (that goes on to win because nothing else is good/memorable enough). I really don't trust the British public to select us the best possible entry, but I also have equal lack of faith in the BBC to actually provide decent songs/artists in the first place!
May 9, 201114 yr Oh GOOD, the thought of having to have 'Your Country Needs You' FOREVER was not a nice one. Perhaps if Blue do do well this year it might spur the BBC on to put some more effort in in future, but that does seem highly unlikely. Edited May 9, 201114 yr by Johnkm
May 9, 201114 yr Oh GOOD, the thought of having to have 'Your Country Needs You' FOREVER was not a nice one. Perhaps if Blue do do well this year it might spur the BBC on to put some more effort in in future, but that does seem highly unlikely. I doubt it, we all remember what happened last year. Blue were probably just in the right place at the right time :( Cue Wagner singing a 'hilarious' song written by Topham and Twigg for our 2012 last place entry :cheer: It's irritating because with a little bit of thought from the BBC, the UK could easily still come top ten every year like we used to. We don't even necessarily need to send big stars, but god knows we have enough decent songwriters/contemporary producers to be able to send something decent each year, and not just on the odd occasion when the BBC feels like it needs to restore national pride and send a decent song. We don't need national pride restoring, we need it to stop crashing and burning every year and having to be saved!
