Posted May 13, 201114 yr It's almost the middle of the year :yahoo: So to celebrate it I'll be revealing my favourite 50 dance songs that hit the charts of all time. It has songs from Daft Punk, Faithess, David Guetta, Swedish House Mafia and more. Predict what will be number one and I'll hopefully be starting soon :cheer:
May 13, 201114 yr Author 50 - Eric Prydz "Pjanoo" UK - 2-2-6-11-20-24-32-44-56-56-57-66-69-83-x-100-x (15 weeks) KggNzh-crfA Starting off the countdown is the first appearance of Eric Prydz (no prizes for guessing what else he's here with) with this song. It is a great summery dance song which deserved to have at least a week at number one over Katy Perry (her debut 'IKAG' was also great) The song does however lack vocals but it works well without them.
May 13, 201114 yr Author 49 - PPK "Resurrection" UK - 3-6-8-12-11-11-19-25-34-32-32-43-60-62-71-x (15 weeks) gYPTgJbfJZ8 The first trance song to appear on this countdown is this space-trance song by Russian group PPK. This song just says how amazing trance can be, and it making number 3 is a big achievement. It debuted one place higher than popular boyband Hear'Say which is great for trance.
May 13, 201114 yr Author 48 - Stardust "Music Sounds Better With You" UK - 2-2-4-8-9-12-13-19-23-20-21-23-30-35-38-45-63-68-62-51-51-50-63-x (23 weeks) JdeMvR--ICk This song is all about the amazing instrumental hook. The beat and vocals make it even better. One of the house classics and I would love to jump up and down to this at a club
May 13, 201114 yr Author 47 - Alex Gaudino feat. Crystal Waters "Destination Calabria" UK - 18-5-4-5-9-12-14-16-24-36-34-42-46-58-70-96-89-66-69-69-68-75-84-x-98-x (24 weeks) u6B0F6edMy8 This song has a great instrumental to it, you gotta love that saxophone. The vocals don't add much to it but are still good, and the video is the first sexy one (there's a lot more to come) Edited May 13, 201114 yr by danielMFAO
May 13, 201114 yr Author 46 - Guru Josh Project "Infinity 2008" UK - 3-4-6-9-8-11-13-17-24-21-18-18-18-31-34-41-47-63-65-60-47-49-59-66-83-93-93-97-x (28 weeks) jzy2dgEUOhY This song has been done many times but the only remix worth listening to imo is this one from 2008. The vocals and instrumental work well on this and the best part is the drop.
May 13, 201114 yr Author 45 - Zombie Nation "Kernkraft 400" UK - 2-2-5-7-12-15-23-30-39-47-64-69-72-71-71-x (15 weeks) z5LW07FTJbI This is a great electro dance song back from 2000 which lost out to number one TWICE to the borefest that is Westlife and Mariah Carey. One of the mysteries is why Zombie Nation didn't name the song after themselves when they say "zombie nation" - having said that it's still a great song!
May 13, 201114 yr Author 44 - Bob Sinclar & Cutee B feat. Dollarman, Big Ali & Makedah "Rock This Party (Everybody Dance Now)" UK - 21-5-4-3-8-10-16-17-23-26-41-53-57-53-62-x (15 weeks) WrkU56igkQ4 My favourite of the Bob Sinclar singles, with 'Love Generation' in second. The shouty vocals make the song what it is but the girl on this song is also great. The kid on the video pretends to be many different people in the video, from Eminem to Michael Jackson. Edited May 13, 201114 yr by danielMFAO
May 13, 201114 yr Author 43 - Martin Solveig & Dragonette "Hello" UK - 73-29-18-16-13-13-16-22-27-23-30-36-35-33-25-27-25-29-32- (19 weeks) kK42LZqO0wA The first very recent song to chart here was an unexpected hit for Martin Solveig. The vocals by Dragonette work great on this song and airplay has helped it have a neat chart run. Bob Sinclar appears twice in a row (he has nothing to do with the song, but he's in a tennis match with Solveig in the video)
May 13, 201114 yr Author 42 - Sidney Samson "Riverside" UK - 2-3-5-5-13-17-23-30-40-44-39-42-46-49-67-76-77-66-67-x (19 weeks) V775PPuBc7Y For UK release a rapper called Wizard Sleeve was put on the song, but I much prefer this video without Wizard, as the instrumental drops are the best part of the song as well as the part where they say "riverside muthafukka". It could have been number one too if they released it a week before 'Replay', it was very unlucky to miss out with opening sales of 90k+
May 13, 201114 yr Author 41 - Calvin Harris "Acceptable In The 80s" UK - 32-17-10-16-12-17-24-26-31-36-46-59-57-62-58-64-38-42-74-59-71-79-81-79-92-88-90-x (27 weeks) LhUcSbbURyc This is a nice piece of electro-pop/dance which is much better than its follow-up 'The Girls'. I do love 'I'm Not Alone' but it hasn't made this chart, as there's just something about the lyrics in AIT8 that I love which isn't there in INA (plus INA has had lots of rip-offs but this hasn't been touched by anyone else)
May 16, 201114 yr Author 40 - DJ Casper "Cha Cha Slide" UK - 2-1-2-2-4-5-8-10-12-17-25-34-36-40-45-56-72-74-x (18 weeks) wZv62ShoStY This is a great novelty song that I used to LOVE when I was around 6/7 when it was released. All I can say is that this has aged better than many songs I loved as a kid. (Cheeky song, fast food song, kids tv etc. :puke:)
May 16, 201114 yr Author 39 - Daft Punk "Around The World" UK - 5-14-27-44-65-x (5 weeks) s9MszVE7aR4 A dance classic, I love the part where they say "around the world" and this has a great beat too.
May 16, 201114 yr Author 38 - Swedish House Mafia vs. Tinie Tempah "Miami 2 Ibiza" UK - 5-4-7-12-13-22-28-30-45-52-42-51-66-75-83-x-58-67-83-x-98-99-x LCH1AsUydSc The instrumental is nice but not as 'epic' as previous single One. Luckily having Tinie Tempah on the song makes up for it and he is suprisingly good on the song despite him being a hip hop rapper.
May 16, 201114 yr Author 37 - T2 feat Jodie Aysha "Heartbroken" UK - 14-2-2-2-9-11-8-9-15-18-19-29-35-39-42-41-53-56-55-57-79-95-x (22 weeks) WTsHWzvJWDQ The one and only garage song on the countdown, this is easily the best out from the garage revival. This is a great tune and it deserved all three weeks at number one over Leona Lewis which got really boring at the time
May 16, 201114 yr Author 36 - Mylo vs. Miami Sound Machine "Doctor Pressure" UK - 3-4-7-9-14-17-15-21-24-29-32-40-40-50-53-54-49-51-58-58-62-64-70-x (23 weeks) 9grWoCEZHFI This is a mash up of Mylo 'Drop The Pressure' (number 19) and Miami Sound Machine 'Dr. Beat' (number 6) to make a bigger hit, and her vocals work great on the Mylo instrumental. The instrumental on its own does get a bit boring after a few minutes so vocals were needed!
May 17, 201114 yr Author 35 - Supermode "Tell Me Why" UK - 36-13-18-20-26-36-37-50-58-x (9 weeks) zTDeEJyCmNA This song takes a sample from Bronski Beat "Smalltown Boy". The instrumental behind the guy singing 'tell me why' makes the song (the vocal gets very repetitive) Edited May 17, 201114 yr by danielMFAO
May 17, 201114 yr Author 34 - Samim "Heater" UK - 29-12-24-32-40-52-95-x (7 weeks) KKZw15DXFiI Whoever's idea it was to have an accordion in a dance song is a genius idea! I love this song because of it, very original but if every dance song had instruments like these in them I would go off them a bit
May 17, 201114 yr Author 33 - Barthezz "On The Move" UK - 18-32-41-61-x (4 weeks) BkhVK8bjLz4 The original ^^ is great but it's all about the Riva radio edit remix which has 79 plays on my iTunes. I discovered it on Godskitchen Pure Trance Classics. Edited May 17, 201114 yr by danielMFAO
May 17, 201114 yr Author 32 - Hi_Tack "Say Say Say (Waiting 4 U)" UK - 8-4-6-9-11-12-18-23-30-42-54-44-52-59-56-68-x (16 weeks) 9RVjSNyKzwc This tune samples Michael Jackson, the vocal in this is great and the video is a 7/10
