This is my favourite Chemical Bros song by far, it's got a great beat with excellent rapping - it's one of the best songs of 05' and it's very underrated compared to some of their other songs

This was a mega-hit with an amazing video around the world in 2004. I started watching the charts around that time and this song defines that year. It is a classic and definately wins the best dance song prize of 2004.

UK - 16-7-9-13-11-19-26-33-36-41-56-69-x (12 weeks)

This was a great song and the 2nd Fedde Le Grand song to be released. It's a fun song with cheap vocals (u-u-u-u-up,d-d-d-d-down etc.) and it's really danceable and the synth in it is excellent. It sadly flopped in comparison to Fedde's other hits.

A dance classic right here, the video is excellent and the song is even better. It is an instrumental which makes it really great and it's one of the best songs to jump up and down to.

This song samples 'I'm Always Here (Baywatch Theme)' and it's a great sample, making this song a summery tune and a house classic. This is the last of the sample-based songs in the countdown

An amazing instrumental, this is the last song in the countdown with zero words in it, but there are other instrumental based songs yet to come. This really should have been a UK number one, as I've said many times before, and my combined plays of this (the original and extended mixes) is 58 plays.

06 - Bodyrox feat. Luciana "Yeah Yeah"

OK yes I did give this more points than Cascada in the number 2s rate, but I've changed my mind since then and they are in the top 5. I would have liked this to get number one, but if it did, it would have stopped a better dance song from going there - which is still to come on the chart. This song is a great example of how house music and screaming actually work.

So yes, my favourite song of last year ends up at number 5 on this countdown, and LMFAO have overtaken it. It has 104 plays on my iTunes, being one of the most played since 2010. You probably know why I love this song, it's amazing and very danceable and if I were on BJ when it reached number one, you would have been seeing lots of smilies! :P

This sadly didn't make it through in the number 2s rate, but it shouldn't have been there in the first place. It was stopped by Shakira's 4th week but at least her song is amazing too so I'm not too disapointed

A classic house song which deserves to be remembered, it defines the funky house genre and I discovered this in 2010 and quickly found out that this was 100x better than Pitbull's 'cover' "Hotel Room Service". To date it has 112 plays on my iTunes, only LMFAO and MJ beat that.

Now some of you are probably thinking, "get over your PRA looning" and "how can this be so high so soon". The answer is in the personal chart run and the 125 plays it has on iTunes. It is an amazing song that I'll probably love forever (although not as much as I do now )

01 - Fedde Le Grand "Put Your Hands Up For Detroit"

UK - 53-62-x-2-1-4-6-7-8-9-15-19-18-16-19-26-30-32-40-49-48-58-71-x (22 weeks)

This is simply the best song in my lifetime ('Bohemian Rhapsody' being the best song before I was born), it is the defining song of 2006 and I might even consider going on holiday to Detroit when I'm older because of this song (OK not really but you get my point - the song is that good :P) The video is also amazing, I used to love watching it on the music channels. If McFly didn't release that week it went to 2, it would have spent 2 weeks at number one. I've never forgiven McFly since (cause' they're awful)
