Just a question, I'm curious if there are any people on buzzjack at all who like Black Metal?

 

I'm not talking about Dimmu Borgir, Behemoth or Cradle of Filth (although they all started out as BM bands)

 

I'm talking about true KVLT bands such as Nargaroth, Burzum, Gorgoroth, Darkthrone, Satyricon, 1349, IMMORTAL?

 

Alternatively, are there any DSBM (Depressive/Suicidal Black Metal) fans out there. Bands such as Xasthur, Nocturnal Depression and Sui Caedere?

Not for me, I like my metal to have melodic elements to it. Zeppelin, as a prime example.

I suppose the closest to melody you'll get from BM is Burzums ambient albums such as Daudi Baldrs or Hlidskjalf :P

Dimmu and Behemoth can still be seen as part of the Black Metal scene though, surely...?

 

I do like Gorgoroth, Emperor, Darkthrone, Carpathian Forest, etc... Not so keen on the Neo-Nazi stuff though....

Carpathian Forest are a great band. And yeah I guess some people can see them as Black Still, but when I talk about black metal. I refer to kvlt true black metal, if that makes sense to you.

i love immortal and darkthrone but not many other black metal bands although i support the ethic/views strongly :)

ill watch immortal and 1349 at bloodstock though, great fest if your getting into black metal or if your hella up for a good time :)

I have my ticket already :D and watching Ihsahn :)
