Posted May 25, 201114 yr Currently being investigated with corruption claims once again. Calll me a cynic, but does the timing of the allegations and the people accused of bribery, not seem right? Not saying they didn't happen as they obviosuly will have done. But there's only one person to gain from this by speeding up the hearings so quickly.
May 27, 201114 yr Author Blatter now being investigated. The three men with the most power in FIFA are being investigated. Shambles.
May 27, 201114 yr There have been suggestions that some of the leading footballing nations might start threatening to quit FIFA. This can only make it more likely.
May 29, 201114 yr I came on this thread ready to say that PES is infinitely better, then was mildly disappointed. But yes, Blatter is a misogynistic crook.
May 29, 201114 yr Well we all knew it! How else could Qatar have got the 2022 World Cup after never qualifying for it
May 29, 201114 yr The rumblings about a breakaway are growing. If it is to be successful it would need most - if not all - of England, Italy, France, Germany and Argentina to be part of it. I am assuming that Spain (as World Cup holders) and Brazil (as the next hosts) are a lot less likely to join any breakaway movement. Alternatively it could be a whole confederation - such as UEFA - that decides it has had enough of FIFA's corruption and incompetence. I still think the chances of it happening are fairly slight at the moment but it's by no means unthinkable.
May 29, 201114 yr Author ^ I think at the moment the main "breakaways" will be England, Australia and United States. A lot of the top European nations could very possibly join though. France, Germany, Italy, Portugal. I don't think there's any chance UEFA will breakaway though, not least whyile Platini is in command. Even though I am sure he thinks the whole situation is beyond a farce.
May 29, 201114 yr I'd love England to pull out of the Qatar world cup, I mean it's not like we'd win it anyway...
May 29, 201114 yr Author For anyone that's interested, Warner and Bin Hamman have been suspended. Blatter gets away and all accusations are dropped. Absolute joke. The organisation is corrupt to the core. The British press are all over it. Ridiculous.
May 31, 201114 yr And now FIFA are saying that the whistle blower (the ridiculously named Chuck Blazer) has been sacked. How do they think that makes them appear less corrupt?
May 31, 201114 yr Author The best quote from Blatter is stating the new man is a "FIFA man". The whole organisation is a joke. It will take balls fro the FA to drop out, but if they do then I seriously think the main sponsors will consdier dropping out. I don't think the current structure can last much longer, unless Blatter does a Ghaddafi.

PMSL..... What an absolute bloody farce..... Honestly, you'd think this was a joke off something like "10 o' Clock Live" if it wasn't for the fact that the fate of a multi-billion pound/multi continental sporting event was at stake..... I keep half-expecting Jimmy Carr to pull off the Sepp Blatter mask and tell us all it's a big wind-up...... You know, the IOC is a paragon of virtue compared to FIFA...... I think that Panorama documentary has now been totally vindicated....

June 1, 201114 yr Author The thing is the Enghlish FA has just made a complete tit of itself. Must have been so embarrassing for the new Chairman. It had to be done, but Blatter's just made laughing stocks of us again. The fact that only a small percentage of FAs around the world still voted for the "vote" to go on was an absolute disgrace. The only way change will come about if is pressure is put on the main three sponsors (Adidas, Coca-Cola and Emirates Airline).

Pfffft, dude, they wont give a monkeys so long as it doesn't affect their "bottom-line", and Blatter is all about being friendly to the business people... They dont care about football, only about the money it makes for them.....
June 1, 201114 yr Apparently a poll showed that 86% of Swiss people think Blatter is corrupt. A further 7% think he is a bit corrupt. So, only 7% of his own countrymen think he is a man of integrity.

If the likes of England, USA, Germany and France pull out I doubt the sponsors will be happy. A lot of nations are viewing it as England spitting their dummy out (which is partly true), but I really don't think Blatter can sustain power much longer. He's lost credibility. The English media are not going to let this go, especially as he made such a meal out of them at the press conference.
