Posted July 29, 200619 yr I was just thinking that this time last year, the diary was chock a block with D events- Haydock, the 3 Maidstone gigs, Danson, Culzean, Lincoln etc etc and as much as I loved seeing D in Chicago, I would so love to see him performing his own material again. Given the choice, wold you prefer him to do an acoustic set (a la Maidstone) or a hip thrusting, bum wiggling performance (like Culzean)? As much as I loved the Maidstone show, because it was so intimate and smooth I think I prefer the louder, rockier shows like Culzean. What about you? :D
July 29, 200619 yr Unfortunately Ive never got to see Darius at Maidstone but I loved Culzean and Lincoln. I would just like anything at the moment but I do love the atmosphere at the large shows :yahoo:
July 29, 200619 yr I :yahoo: both......but what I want is to hear something new that is pure Darius...either setting would do ...or my front room
July 29, 200619 yr Author Unfortunately Ive never got to see Darius at Maidstone but I loved Culzean and Lincoln. Did you go to haydock as well? Isn't that your neck of the woods?
July 29, 200619 yr Yes I did I loved that as well I didn't even notice the rain  I am sure I was stood next to you M C waiting outside at the end The security men were not very nice and you said something to me about them.
July 29, 200619 yr Poor Steve, a house full of Darius fans. He'd probably run away for the day. He can go out on his Harley.........just need to sort a date and time with Darius now...... :o
July 30, 200619 yr I'd love a Butlins-type gig i.e. a convention where Darius does an intimate acoustic set of his OWN songs, a question and answer session, a meet and greet and a full blown rocking concert to finish up. If I HAD to choose, it would be Darius commanding the stage in full Culzean mode. In longer sessions he always manages to slip in a few gentler numbers anyway. I really want to hear him sing all of the songs from Live Twice. He really knows how to use a stage and work an audience but it's harder to do when he's sitting down playing his guitar.

That was one truly amazing day! Probably my best D experience to date! I really want to hear him sing all of the songs from Live Twice. I'm desperate to hear him sing 'Better Man' live!

That just about sums it up, doesn't it Baytree!!!  It certainly sounds good to me!! BRING IT ON DARIUS (PLEASE)!!! :yahoo: :D Julie
August 5, 200619 yr This time last year we still had a list of events......I do hope his next message brings some news of appearances........
August 8, 200619 yr I haven't seen Darius live since Jan 05 .... seems like eons ago - so anything would do, I'd just like to be able to go :P  But, if I'm being idealistic, then I'd love my 2 hour + Darius special that I designed on Divas agees ago - a full band monty rock-type gig in the open air on a sunny afternoon; and as night falls, a mellow-chilled acoustic session in the same place - under the stars  - ALL of his songs, including those we've never heard live before please :D
August 8, 200619 yr Nah, it might make up for all the ones I didn't get to last year - might, though actually thinking about it, I think I'd planned this one before I knew I was going to miss several :P ;)
August 11, 200618 yr I would settle for any D gig, but given the choice, I would love to attend an acoustic gig in an intimate setting. I never made it to maidstone :( I missed out on Butlins :( :( and I regret not putting my foot down in the past and saying sod the expense I am going. I will not let a little thing like "she who must be obeyed" stop me from attending a D gig in the future ;)
August 11, 200618 yr :o B.P...... ...I'm afraid I just tell my husband I'm going....the only time I don't get is when we are away or I can't change my work rota....and then I'm as miserable as.....
August 11, 200618 yr I was so excited this time last year :yahoo: What a night the 13th was at Culzean Castle
