I think we have a decent chance but McClaren has a massive task ahead of him if we're to go up. Last season we used the least amount of players in the Championship having the smallest squad. They included Bertrand, Konchesky and Ramsey who were only on loan, as well as Boyd who I don't think we'll sign. Tyson, Adebola, Rodney and Wilson have already gone, McKenna is on the verge of joining Hull and Earnshaw, Bennett and Moussi are all out of contract, the Chief Exec has said today we're well off with Earnshaw, Bennett will only stay if he can't find another club and Moussi is now more likely to stay with a change of manager. There's also Blackstock who I can't see back before Christmas.

That leaves just 16 players at the club. :|

Redknapp saying that Chelsea's bid for Modric is ridiclous

Rightly so he's a £30-35m player. He'll definitely be leaving Spurs this summer imo, I'm just not sure where to. I'd imagine the bid has gone very public is because Spurs want to start a bidding war.

BRUCEY, SIGN HIM UP.

In other news, Nolan's now completed his move to West Ham - a 5-year contract. As a Sunderland fan it's pleasing, I don't have to see that fucking chicken dance for a whole season.

Also, apparently Wes Brown won't be coming here as he doesn't want to move to the North East. Oh well.

So Sylvain Marveaux fails his Liverpool medical and is now off to Newcastle. Odd

& He's now come out and said he's moving to Newcastle instead because of financial reasons.. Whilst, a whole bunch of journalists have said he failed the medical hmm

Demba Ba signed for Newcastle. Despite the inevitability of a mass exodus, I do feel slightly sad to see him go. It says more about West Ham's season than it does about Ba that he was our top scorer despite only playing 12 games, but without him we'd have been down and out long before the Wigan game.

Strong rumours going around that we've agreed personal terms with N'Zogbia. Watch this space...

Different clubs have different medicals. Imo Liverpool will have offered him a 2 Year/3 Year contract at most, and rightly so as his injury record is terrible. Newcastle have offered him a 5 year deal, which is quite frankly mind blowing for a player with such a terrible injury record.

Unless he spectacularly fails I don't see how they can justify sacking him after a year, I'm sure they will though.... The job is becoming more attractive each year though, either you improve your credentials by winning or you get a massive pay-off.
Westwood and Larsson confirmed deals, both players will sign on July 1st.

Is Gordon on his way then?

I'm gutted about Westwood. There's rumours of Camp leaving Forest and he'd have been my number one choice if he were to leave...

He'll be injured for the start of the season but there's rumours he could be headed off. Apparently Westwood's going to start the season as first choice keeper ahead of Mignolet, very harsh on Mig if that's true, didn't do an awful lot wrong last season.
I think that's good business really. Although I'm surprised with Man Utd's transfer business so far. As good as he is I don't think Young is what they're missing in midfield, they've still not officially signed a keeper although I'm sure it is a done deal and are heavily linked to ANOTHER young centre half!
Our dealings have been really ODD. Jones and Young are great signings and all but we need a keeper and to strengthen our centre midfield much more. Also I can't help but think these high prices flying around this summer for young English players are more than coincidence.

The signing of Young is so odd. He'a a good player, but Man Utd do not need another winger. He's not as good as Nani either. Huge mistake imo if you swap Young for Nani.

Looks like he didn't fail his medical after all and didn't sign for issues with his contract

Happy though as we've got enough players like him.. Good, but always injured e.g. Aurelio, Agger etc..
