August 31, 201113 yr Author Today has proved that Wenger has still got it. Park, Mertesacker, Santos and Arteta, possibly Benayoun too. All great players in positions they need, and he's not spent too much on any of them. £16m for Cahill? Pah! Arteta will fit right in there lol ...capped at every internation level, expect fully :D I think they're good signings, but they reek of desperation. Arteta and Banayoun are good players, but very injury prone who will be on long-term contracts. Mertesacker is a very good signing. Santos is terrible though. Can't defend for toffee!
August 31, 201113 yr Benayoun only on a season long loan it appears, it may reek of desperation but they've only had money for a fortnight, the results so far show they need major investment and they've managed to get 5 players in without being held to ransom. Benayoun is a good replacement for Nasri considering, and he's got to be better than Arshavin!
August 31, 201113 yr Author Merieles has gone to Chelsea. Bellamy back to Liverpool on a 2yr deal. I'm most surprised Scott Dann has gone to Blackburn! Spurs have signed Parker. Can't believe Crouch has gone to Stoke though. Stoke have the players now to up there with the 'just a bit better than midtable' teams.
August 31, 201113 yr Tony Pulis has the right idea, Stoke will never change the way they play. Every summer his shopping list is the same. 1) a bigger striker who'll score more goals than one they have 2) a pacier more accurate winger 3) a more combative central midfielder 4) a bigger stronger centre half. And it works, fair play to them.
September 1, 201113 yr What is it with Chelsea wanting Liverpool players that have scored against them ? Torres and now Meireles. Suarez on the bench vs. them please Not surprised that he's gone as he'll be getting higher wages and would have been on the bench a lot for us this season Have to laugh at a Chelsea fan saying "Meireles is better than Modric anyway"
September 1, 201113 yr Arteta reportedly taken a £1m a year paycut to join Arsenal, fantastic business from Wenger.
September 1, 201113 yr Author Arteta reportedly taken a £1m a year paycut to join Arsenal, fantastic business from Wenger. Everton are going backwards. I'm not surprised. Yet again they've been quiet in the transfer market.
September 5, 201113 yr I wouldn't say either are awful, but Arsenal are definately weaker this season Nasri & Fabregas replaced by Arteta and Benayoun. Should be stronger defensively though with a fit Vermaelen and Mertesacker
